Expert Eye should take this without any fuss, but Seahenge to win at 12-1 and Mendelssohn each way 80-1 for me
October 14, 2017 at 15:03 #13216041,2,3,4 for AOB. Not buying anything in the form of this race.
October 14, 2017 at 15:04 #1321605Oh, dear . . .
October 14, 2017 at 15:05 #1321606The biggest flop since Moby Dick’s Dick.
Never travelling and U S Navy Flag has shot them all to bits there. The Guineas market is in total disarray.
May as well start the Guineas betting from scratch after that.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 14, 2017 at 15:06 #1321609As I stated there was a chance that Expert Eye could bomb out completely. He hadn’t run since goodwood and had a problem before the national stakes. Possibly just an early two year old who was overhyped on the back of one visually impressive race.
Total dominance again by O’brien and I wonder how long it is until the market catches up with this dominance- it doesn’t seem to of yet- after all it’s easy to say in hindsight but now seems ridiculous that a non O’brien inmate was priced up at 4/7

I’d agree with that- you could hardly be confident that US Navy Flag is a classic winner. I like Elarqam but let’s be honest, you couldn’t be confident about anything in the 2000 guineas. A complete lottery as things stand
October 14, 2017 at 15:10 #1321614Absolutely bonkers
Annoyed I didn’t follow you in with the 80/1 each way placer. Cracking shout lads.
I thought I’d just sit and watch a superstar in the making. Can’t believe what I’ve seen.
October 14, 2017 at 15:10 #1321615I wouldn’t give up on Expert Eye by any means. Had be run his race and got beaten a couple of lengths then would probably be as good as he is. But he patently did not run his race and the fancy prices about him for the Guineas ought to be taken imo.

Disagree strongly Joe- He doesn’t look like a two year old with much in the way of scope- tongue was lolling out- pulled like a train- sweated up slightly before the race if that’s a classic winner mate you must be watching a different sport to me.
October 14, 2017 at 15:12 #1321617Some being a bit hard on the winner, though. Track record and he just seems to be thriving on his racing.
Hard to say how much that rail position is worth and I think that’s complicating assessments too.
October 14, 2017 at 15:16 #1321618For Expert Eye , read Gorytus .
Lesson : Ignore Aidan O’Brien at your peril when a Group One race is up for grabs .

October 14, 2017 at 15:21 #1321621And well done US Navy Flag supporters and good each way judges
October 14, 2017 at 15:24 #1321623Yep well done winners, and also Mendelssohn backers. And US Navy Flag himself winning like that after a busy season.
October 14, 2017 at 15:27 #132162480-1, what a hit Kris, and yet again BigG, and first to put him up Charlie at 50-1
October 14, 2017 at 15:35 #1321632Obviously I’m chuffed to have backed the winner but oh boy am I gutted with Threeandfourpence getting done for 3rd! I feel he’s definitly a horse that should go on for that. The winner looked a good horse today and it’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
October 14, 2017 at 15:38 #1321633Yes well done Mendellsohn backers, Charlie et al

I think I backed that at the curragh on the basis it was well related and left it alone since
