I believe that CC came home from France very unwell and will take a lot of time to recover.
October 18, 2009 at 15:58 #254085Yeah Fist if I recall correctly Meehan had everyone shaking in their boots at the start of this year and he was full of hot air!
October 18, 2009 at 17:26 #254091"Well there you go, total bunch of crap." Zarkava your listing against Coolmore hardly warrants a professional comment. However since I am not a professional commentator I might point out that to ignore the result just because Coolmore were first and second does you no credit at all.Zarkava you are better than that.Redeem yourself.
What? You think I’m anti-Ballydoyle?
Jesus wept, Ballydoyle are responsible for the majority of the fantastic horses we’ve seen since the turn of the millennium. And Coolmore are reponsible for the majority of all the other fantastic horses. God, without this unbelievable operation I don’t hesitate to say that horse racing wouldn’t be as half as exciting as it is today.
October 18, 2009 at 17:47 #254093Meehan the biggest bluffer in the game.
Has he ever said something that actually came through i wonder?

Now having said that let me reiterate (Jesus wept some more)that the first ,second third and fourth in the Dewhurst are a bunch of crap.
Will the real Zarkava please stand up!October 18, 2009 at 20:32 #254125Andy, I don’t understand your posts anymore. Sorry.
I’ve said that Beethoven is crap. That’s all.
October 18, 2009 at 22:15 #254139Beethoven was the one beaten horse I made a mental note of after his eyecatching fifth in the Phoenix Stakes. He clearly wanted a step up in trip, but then struggled to win his maiden and looked exposed behind Kingsfort over seven furlongs in the National Stakes.
He’s clearly a bit of a monkey and I’d be reluctant to support him on his next outing after his fine effort in a first time visor yesterday.
Like Beethoven, Fencing Master is by Oratorio and you would expect both to excel over further next season, with the latter looking the most likely to progress.
The same could be said about the third, Xtension. His trainer was correct in highlighting his ‘progressive profile’ and he travelled like the best horse in the race. If he trains-on, he should be thereabouts in the mile Classics next season.
Steinbeck was the choice of Jonny Murtagh and he is also bred to be a Guineas candidate and it will be interesting to see how he progresses during the winter.
I would take him out of the race as a potential Guineas winner for Ballydoyle.
Buzzword was having his seventh outing in under four months and I wouldn’t write him off just yet, but prolific winners Dick Turpin and Silver Grecian look as though they could struggle next year.
Xtension the one to take out of the race, in my opinion.
October 18, 2009 at 22:25 #254140Sorry I misread you, since you did not name any horses in the first response to the Dewhurst I thought you were maligning the whole field ,including the other Ballydoyle horses. My mistake.
October 19, 2009 at 21:27 #254319We said the same last year, Mark, and look how that worked out – Delegator and Rip Van Winkle weren’t even placed.
Very true Equi,
The form is not that good for a Dewhurst; but good horses may come out of the race. Particularly as I said, Steinbeck, Chebal and may be Extension.Strangely enough, despite Aidan having three of the first four; he may not be that happy with the future in mind. Am sure he’d rather Steinbeck had won by a couple of lengths, even if his other two were well beaten. Doubt if he has that high hopes for Beethoven.
Value Is EverythingOctober 20, 2009 at 11:58 #254397Wallace, I have to agree with you. I thought Fencing Master looked like a nice horse. He was being scrubbed from the gate, indeed, for the whole race and he finished like a horse who will only get better. It was his second run and I look forward to seeing him next year.
Bare form of the race might not look that impressive now, and maybe it will be proven to be so, but let’s wait till next year to see what happens.
October 22, 2009 at 13:47 #254779He may take Beethoven to the BC as he is a hardened warrior according to Aidan. Also I believe he bred him so the publicity would do no harm if he won.
October 27, 2009 at 02:02 #255595Bolger said: "Free Judgement goes on any ground and he was used as a pacemaker at Newmarket the last day".That would be the Dewhurst. I did not know that.Did Jim tell the betting public before the race?
