This is about my worst ante post nightmare…Pandorama for Ballymore, Cousin Vinny for Supreme….can someone please describe the ‘comments in running’ that advances the chances of both for those nominated races
February 14, 2009 at 02:35 #210051I hope the Hurricane blows them all away impressively and then is confirmed for the Supreme, because there is no novice to touch him around 2m!
February 15, 2009 at 02:11 #210275Much as I like Hurricane Fly for the supreme Novice I reckon Cousin Vinny is the best bet in the race tomorrow at 9/4. Would take a really fast pace to run the speed out of HF and CV enough for Pandorama to win.
I just think that on this ground at this trip Cousin Vinny will be going stronger in the last furlong.
February 15, 2009 at 02:59 #210287Hurricane Fly should take this. I think he’ll pounce at the last and do them for toe.

Cousin Vinny is yet to convince me that he’s a genuine top class prospect, so I have this between Hurricane Fly and Pandorama.
The former was devilishly impressive last time out and, whilst I would question how good Go Native is, Zarinava certainly looked to be going well enough when falling behind Pagan Starprincess and Chomba Womba at Doncaster. He has a high cruising speed, a turn of pace (or as near as you can get on heavy ground) and plenty of ability.
Pandorama on the other hand seemingly has it all to do. I don’t think he ran to form behind Mikael D’Haguenet last time and it mustn’t be forgotten that he was conceding 4lb to the Mullins horse. Western Charmer will likely set a sedate gallop as he did on his previous run, but Pandorama can take it up if necessary and I can see him having everything hard at it turning in. He can’t be ridden any other way against a horse like Hurricane Fly, so his stamina has to be utilised.
Pandorama to beat Hurricane Fly.
February 15, 2009 at 04:45 #210304I really like Pandorama in this. His last run seems excusable, he’s now fresh again for this and seems likely to produce his best form. I think he’ll get the lead and it will be interesting to see how Hurricane Fly does in a race run at a decent pace. At 4/1 he is overpriced imo, a rare occurrence for a Meade novice!
February 15, 2009 at 13:52 #210327Hurricane Fly will run past Pandorama and say "sorry mate, i’ve a race to win, we will maybe talk some other time mate", before going on to duel it out with CV, and winning it.
February 15, 2009 at 14:02 #21033011/10 with Paddy Power it’s time to dig deep into the piggy bank

I think backing the forecast is a no no. I am with those who fancy Pandorama for second but he’s no good thing to finish in front of Cousin Vinny.
The latter has no where near the turn of foot of his stable companion and the weight difference from the last time they met won’t change that one iota..
Very Confident Hurricane Fly will win this very easily.
February 15, 2009 at 14:40 #210338Hurricane Fly is out – lame this morning
February 15, 2009 at 15:20 #210346You can still lay Hurricane Fly at 5/4 on Betfair!
February 15, 2009 at 15:23 #210347Oh sorry, forgot its the day of the race rules – non-runner, no bet.
February 15, 2009 at 15:28 #210348I bet there’s nothing wrong with him. Mullins is at it. What happens if you back CV at normal price after HF has been pulled out, do they invoke the 30% rule, or would it be more ?
I ended up backing Vinny at 4/5 now. He will run past Pandorama and say "i think you need help with your jumping mate, have a nice day".
February 15, 2009 at 16:52 #210362Don’t say you weren’t told!

Very interesting IC.

Always the way
February 15, 2009 at 19:29 #210378Jeez.

Mullins just standing straight up and then getting clattered by Western Charmer.
February 15, 2009 at 21:55 #210412I’ve been looking forward to this race for weeks, only to be left feeling robbed………
