Agree that he ran an absolute blinder. Didn’t expect any of them to be 1st or 2nd. But Jack Kennedy could at least have dropped his whip……
March 16, 2022 at 16:34 #1587730What a legend Tiger is. I hope he has a long and enjoyable retirement.
O’Leary has to be the most unlikeable owner in history though.March 16, 2022 at 16:35 #1587731If Delta Work was a Gigginstown horse trained in a different stable, I could sort of understand it. But to beat Tiger Roll with a horse trained in the same stable was a let down for any neutral (I fully accept anyone who backed Delta Work will see it differently).
March 16, 2022 at 16:36 #1587732Not you Ginger no.
March 16, 2022 at 16:36 #1587733What an exciting race, and Tiger Roll performed heroically. All credit to the winner too – shame to hear the booing. The only person involved who deserves booing is O’Leary.
March 16, 2022 at 16:41 #1587736Honourable second can be glorious befair, not as glorious as victory though.
Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2022 at 16:44 #1587738Cant believe peeps are moaning about Jack Kennedy. A Pro doing what a Pro should do….always. Try your upmost to win and beat whatever the opposition is. In this case Tiger Roll was the ‘opposition’, in a great finish.
March 16, 2022 at 16:44 #1587740I found it a little bit surprising that Rachel Blackmore rode a 33/1 chance in this race. If I had some great rides lined up, I think I might have found something better to do with my time than ride a no hoper around a quirky track!
March 16, 2022 at 16:45 #1587741“shame to hear the booing. The only person involved who deserves booing is O’Leary”.
Isn’t that what the crowd were doing, Marlingford?
Could also be about O’Leary not allowing Tiger Roll the chance to go for a third Grand National.
Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2022 at 16:47 #1587744No one is moaning about Jack Kennedy. He is completely blameless. The criticism is levelled at O’Leary and Elliott.

He’s a quirky horse and they said he enjoyed schooling over XC fences at home.
March 16, 2022 at 16:49 #1587748The only positive slant I can take is at least we know that delta work is a virtual certainty for next years renewal and probably the year after too
March 16, 2022 at 16:49 #1587749Bit surprised Davy Russell went to the front so soon on Tiger Roll.
Known to idle in front.Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2022 at 16:57 #1587753True but the horse was cruising and Russell was sitting still for a long time after everybody else around him got to work, I don’t think there was anything he could do.
March 16, 2022 at 16:58 #1587754Ginger, my interpretation was that Delta Work and Jack Kennedy were being booed for beating Tiger Roll.
I don’t think O’Leary was at the forefront of the minds of those booing, if indeed you could describe the people who felt this was appropriate as having minds.
March 16, 2022 at 17:06 #1587759What mike said,
What a disaster theyve had here with DW and they will pretend there just happy they won
No.
March 16, 2022 at 17:13 #1587764Interesting to hear Ed on ITV say he’d never heard booing like that at Cheltenham before. He must have missed the 2005 Champion Hurdle then!
