That last hurdle. Reminded me of Kauto Star…
January 25, 2025 at 15:28 #1718872No worries for Brighterdaysahead after today’s “hold your breath” performance. He wasn’t that slick today despite the pedestrian pace.

Yep: she’ll still give him.a nice lead to the home turn and plug on for second.
January 25, 2025 at 16:09 #1718886Not so sure about that one, Gladders. Despite winning in a canter, he should have won by more than just three lenghts against horses rated 30-50 lbs. lower. The time was ten seconds slower than the Triumph Hurdle trial, but that was obviously due to the lack of pace.
January 25, 2025 at 17:13 #1718895Huh? You’ve acknowledged that he won in a canter. That’s why he didn’t win by further.
January 25, 2025 at 21:43 #1718905I don’t know what people want from this lad! Seriously. I think some of you are allowing your disdain of Nicky Henderson to sour your opinion of the horse.
He won in a canter, which is why he belted the last and was laughing at them. As he should. 3l may be the official winning distance but we all know it could have been 30 if Nico had wanted.
Even if all the opponents we all want to see turn up in the champion hurdle and CH wins by 5l or more some of you will look to be critical!
January 26, 2025 at 00:32 #1718921I’m on The Hill since before the Christmas Hurdle. Am a great fan, he could’ve been the best hurdler we have ever seen. Actually still could. However, his form this season is still some way short of his very best. His odds for the Champion are very short, but that’s more to do with his two main rivals being doubtful – particularly Brighterdaysahead. If the two mares turn up The Hill will probably start somewhere between 5/4 and 6/4. If they don’t turn up The Hill might be long odds-on. Hence the bookmakers aren’t taking any chances. At the moment it seems the Elliott horse will swerve the Champion which is a shame. At her best she’d even give a top form Constitution Hill a race.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 26, 2025 at 10:29 #1718941I’m not sure what anybody learned, apart from he’s alive and well – and in pretty good form. One of the worst Bula Hurdles I can remember.
He’d be better off having a run on the A/W…..January 26, 2025 at 10:47 #1718946He’s proved he’s healthy and sound , the only questions left is what happens if push comes to shove and is there a horse that can get him off the bridle , that question may get answered today ..
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 26, 2025 at 11:31 #1718950If he can hopefully reproduce his 2023 Champion Hurdle form he won’t come off the bridle.
The more I know the less I understand.
January 26, 2025 at 11:44 #1718952Let’s see what the Mullins horse does today
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 26, 2025 at 11:57 #1718953Anzadam is clearly a high-class prospect, but beating Laafi and Beacon Edge isn’t going to tell us much.
January 26, 2025 at 12:06 #1718954If we see a bridle job then it makes things more interesting
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 26, 2025 at 14:11 #1718965Very impressive , he’s not beaten anything however I just get the feeling his maybe the horse to give CH a race
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 26, 2025 at 14:57 #1718967I thought Anzadam looked special on his debut and have been waiting patiently for w/o betting in the Champion Hurdle to appear.
I don’t think he’ll beat CH this year but he could be the eventual successor. A very slick jumper also unlike Lossiemouth.
Willie’s giving him every chance to strengthen up and keeping him away from the harder tests much like Espoir d’Allen before his Champion Hurdle win.
I was on him at 25s that year and it was heart breaking that he lost his life so young.
January 26, 2025 at 15:29 #1718968Anzadam may wait until Aintree according to the trainer
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 26, 2025 at 15:53 #1718972With one eye on his handicap mark no doubt.
