De Plotting Shed for me in this. His form with Presenting Percy, puts him into a different league to what most of these could achieve. I backed him last week at 13-2. The 11-2 still available, still looks a decent price to me. He wants better ground they say, but Cheltenham soft, is a world away from the Irish ploughed fields he has been running on this winter.

He puts PP (strong fav for RSA) in around top weight for this if that form is taken literally. He was also the very first Elliot horse jocked up for the festival.

Reeks of the winner of this to me, from the moment Smith let it in.

On the corner, the jury’s sleepless, we’ve found a weakness, and it’s right outside your door. And at 16s, I’ll say the price is set.

So don't run, just like the others always do

I am on two here RATHER BE at 11/1 and TESTIFY at 25/1 but am not that confident LOL

But I do think Rather Be could be well in here if he jumps well enough and that is a big but!! LOL

Love the horse Raymo, he has been on my mind for the festival for quite some time, only issue must be ground surely?

He has won on soft ground Jack but IMO good would be better but I think he could be a fair bit better than these in time!!
I hope that time is Tuesday at 5.30 LOL

I wouldn’t trust De Plotting Shed as he always seems to run a shocker if I back him.

For me, Any Second Now brings Top class form into the race and even at his high weight, will win this before moving on to bigger things imo.

In his last four races, the only five horses to finish in front of him were Footpad, Petit Mouchoir, Presenting Percy, Monalee and Invitation Only. That’s a very high level of form.

Took the 7/1 a couple of days ago and will probably go in again on the day if he is bigger than 5/1.

    Any Second Now @ 7/1

I’m pleased that TESTIFY has sneaked into this as I reckon he’s a bit better than the 145 rating. He’s done nothing wrong in beating some decent opponents in three chases. Donald McCain had a choice of 5 entries this week and I’m happy to leave it to his judgement. One concern is that Testify has dominated in small fields to date, the only double figure field he’s run in was a Grade 1 hurdle in which he was outclassed anyway so may not be significant.

Alternative is an ex-McCain inmate in BARNEY DWAN who struck me as one to make up into a chaser when I saw him on his Rules debut in a Kelso Bumper. Hasn’t done much wrong over fences and the large field doesn’t hold any fears either as he dealt with hustle and bustle in big field hurdles.

Decent looking line up for this race yet again, and a nice betting heat.

Well Western Miller makes it, but there are obvious concerns about the ground for him.

    From my original shortlist

    Any Second Now
    Divine Spear
    De Plotting Shed

all make it, and that doesn’t make things much easier, as it’s not a race where I want a big spread of horses for my stake.

I missed the odds with Shed, but he’ll be in there for a sure as win saver, having mentioned him a few times as real plot horse. Any Second Now is surely a Gold Cup horse of the future, and I’m torn between betting him here or Fairyhouse, where I think he has a major chance. As for Divine Spear, I’m not concerned at all about his reverse last time, but stablemate Rather Be looks rock solid as well, and struggling to split the NJH pair, so I might just take it on the chin if I miss out on him. It’ll be a late decision then with Any Second Now, not sure what to do, and that win saver with Shed.

One I will add is Jameson at around 33’s. He doesn’t quite look to have the scope of some of these, but he’s had his moments this term, and I like Bellamy for him, even though yard have stronger looking claims here. Not bet him yet, as he’ll be each way, and I’ll try to nick an extra place.

Western Miller 40’s ew (Ante-Post NRNB BOG)

    De Plotting Shed (Win)
    Jameson (Ew)

This has a wide spread of winning trainers and relatively rarely goes to an Irish-trained horse or an outsider. However, I’m in the camp with those who sense a big plot with De Plotting Shed by Elliott and hard to split that and Mister Whitaker who connections couldn’t have thought would get in. So Win bets on those two. Any Second Now feared most.

I’m also on Rather Be 11/1. He is on a fair mark, a big field shouldn’t problem, neither the ground. Only worry is his jumping.

I’m very much in Raymo and DBR’s camp with Rather Be at 11/1. His 2 chase wins may have
been over 2m, but he’s won over 2m 4f over hurdles so I don’t see why he wouldn’t get the trip
here. I think he basically can go on any ground, and although a fair bit of his form is on better
ground, he won as he liked last time out on soft, and ran a cracker of a race, beaten on the nod
by Coeur De Lion last year at Sandown on heavy, with the pair pulling well clear of the field.
I think he’s just about my most hopeful bet today.

    TYCOON PRINCE.

Didn’t work out for him over hurdles despite a big reputation, but already seems like a better chaser. Finished 7 lengths behind Al Boum Photo, then beat Bunk Off Early. I think he would have finished ahead of Any Second Now in the Irish Arkle had he not fell at the last, and now re-opposes on 2lbs better terms.

My Nap of the day runs in this, Le Rocher. Would probably have made it 4 out of 4 over fences last time but for a mistake at the second last. Slight concern that those runs have been in small fields but with the ground and trip being ideal I think he’s nailed on for a place at least.

Barry has chosen Demi Sang over Any Second Now. Makes no sense on form lines. Unless he knows something we don’t? On Any Second Now at 10s e/w so I’m a bit worried about this

Mark Walsh always rides ASN for Ted Walsh so I wouldn’t worry.
