Mullins had 3 odds on shots go down today at Punchestown and still isn’t all guns blazing.
Il Etait Temps bolted up in extremely good fashion in the Tingle Creek and I’d expect the same here, all things being equal but the yard form is still a slight headscratcher
Hendo is bullish about Jonbon but I’d take Thistle Ask to beat him in a match bet… Thistle Crack would to step up again but has been near perfect albeit in group 2 company, I just don’t trust Jonbon
I can understand Gidleigh Park dropping back in distance after his effort in the 1965 chase but not so much for this race, in this company, prize money up for grabs I guess

January 13, 2026 at 05:16 #1750307Thistle crack , you on the crack Hughsie , IET pissed up when Mullins was even quieter , I think he might be the best horse in his yard ….
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 13, 2026 at 08:56 #1750314Thistlecrack at 2 miles would make a great bunny for Il Etait Temps.
No crack for me but playing Snooker on a wet Monday night in Taunton against Blind Dave you can make the odd mind slip.
Biggest odds on Thistle Ask is 7’s shortest on Jonbon is 7/2 with BresBet… What the hell is BresBet? and do they do match bets

January 13, 2026 at 16:04 #1750348What ever way IET will beat them , 11k for Thistle ask is the steal of the season but this is a big jump up , Jonbon is too slow for 2 miles now
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 13, 2026 at 17:06 #1750355Im drawn into Jonbon E/W at 9/2..hes old yea. But Cobden may get a new tune out of him (if Nico is unavailable).
Slow yes he is, but the Ascot up hill finish adds the need for a bit of stamina above 2 miles.January 14, 2026 at 12:00 #1750430Cobden onboard Jonbon while nico up to haydock

Jonbon

January 17, 2026 at 07:54 #1750696Was interesting listening to Walsh’s take on Tingle Creek. Basically said that whilst his jumping improved, jonbon set no gallop at Sandown and IET didnt have to do much to win.
I’m not sure how you beat IET here. Best chance would be to set a real gallop and outstay him, but he’s won over further and chances are you just set it up for him.
Might not like Ascot or underperforms is only way he’s beat.

James Bowen on board.January 17, 2026 at 15:26 #1750773I’ve gone for Jonbon with bet365’s position payout thing.
Put a bit on him ew at 25s for the QMCC too.January 17, 2026 at 15:30 #1750774Prepare to watch one of the best horses in racing
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 17, 2026 at 15:36 #1750775Wow that was an odd race – IET was never travelling and is still down….fingers crossed he gets up
January 17, 2026 at 15:38 #1750776Hoping the best for IET. James Bowen is not the worst substitute for Nico.
January 17, 2026 at 15:38 #1750777Jesus please get up , he ran as if something amiss
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 17, 2026 at 15:39 #1750778Well I was on Thistle Ask but I’m pleased for James. Hope IET is ok…
January 17, 2026 at 15:39 #1750779Jonbon’s stamina won him the race so I wonder whether the Ryanair is the race for him now.
