People are going out and panic buying kettles.
I’ve got a flask so boil the kettle for my coffee and put what is left in the kettle in the flask. Stays hot for hoursGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

September 8, 2022 at 07:12 #1613734Broadening this to the public purse, and I’m no economist, but in these exceptional war footing times I might have been tempted to try a half baked a sort of ‘in the middle with you’ approach to extract this 150 bill.
Bond rates were 3.09 yesterday and the ten years were less which is concerning and an omen for ‘ something’s in the air.
I might have prised the excess energy profits estimated at 100 bill from the likes of BP on a 2% loan basis and got the lesser amount from bankbrokeciti on the bond markets. Normally there is an inverse relationship between interest rates and bond rates. Bond rates will be damaged less excessively with the smaller sum and yes the relaxation of people’s tight purses may fuel inflation to some extent but less than the pundits are saying in my opinion.
Just on my second tea of the morning and then I need to get into gear. The dollar and rouble are the exceptional currencies as they can both boil their own Johnson kettle with their own supplies.
Grey clouds skidding across the skies – 🌨️ thinking is now necessary and in buckets.September 10, 2022 at 13:14 #1614101A very interesting take on the current crisis here:
September 10, 2022 at 22:56 #1614182It’s ridiculous Glad, I live in a fairly new house and am of course surrounded by the same. I’ve no idea why solar panels aren’t a requirement. A few people have had them fitted (therefore clearly viable here) but the developers won’t go a single inch further than they legally have to.
September 11, 2022 at 00:49 #1614187If only Prince Phillip had been left to live out his solitary retirement at Wood farm on the Sandringham estate he might well have reached 100. I don’t think he wanted to uproot to Windsor but the covid outbreak rather made it inevitable and he bowed to what was considered the expected thing to do and of course convention, and his dear wife’s wishes.
The Queen was the most sober member of the Royal Family. The other dysfunctional members have strangely ensured the monarchy’s
survivorship, and notwithstanding the Queen’s vital steadying force, it was the rest of them; the odd bunch, the baggage, that
very much like; Lake, Tank, Ken West Derby, the newshound Hughes, and Razzer in the reign of King Cormack, in an alternative universe, that have helped the Queen click and stay vital and real.P.s Cleverly positioned this on the wrong thread to dodge the radar.

Wear a high-tog duvet around the clock and only visit supermarkets half an hour before closing time when all items are reduced.

best thing about it is there are far less people there at that time of night

September 20, 2022 at 19:46 #1615256“far fewer people there at that time of night” – Massive plus.
“helper at the “self check-out” is a bit of a sort” – I’m not sure how many more times I can credibly pretend I don’t know how the self-service screen works to the resident “sort” in my local Waitrose. She must wonder how someone so apparently consistently stupid can afford to shop there.

September 21, 2022 at 19:45 #1615380If you’re hungry, look at the numerous food photos on Instagram, be repulsed by the gigantic, gut bucket, portions and lose your appetite.
Then sip a little tap water and nibble piece of a solitary sliced banana.
Repeat every day until the spring.
