It was 15 points, TAPK, not that it makes much difference. Hopefully he’ll go to Ascot now for the Reynoldstown – that will be worth 20pts minimum, I would imagine.

January 13, 2010 at 17:10 #269662Big Bucks was 4/1 with William Hill straight after he won last years World Hurdle.
I had him at 14/1 for last years World Hurdle after he won a handicap at Cheltenham doubled up with Kauto for Gold Cup.
If he wins this year, I will be having £1,000 on him for next year at any odds of 2/1 or more. Given that the bookies will think he may go back chasing next season they may be over generous with the odds. However Kauto & Denman may not have gone into the decline expected with 11 year olds. Exceptional animals do win Championship races at this age such as Sea Pigeon and Moscow Flyer.
Big Bucks will be back for the World Hurdle in 2011.
January 13, 2010 at 19:23 #269691I think I punt in a different league to you Sea Pidgeon! Good luck with those bets though, liking the more exotic trebles etc.

January 17, 2010 at 10:29 #270368Wait for it! I can feel an announcement coming about Mikael d"Haguenet!! and its not good!!!!!!!!!

Still waiting! I expected to see in headlines this morning,on the Racing Post website-. "Mikael out for season",but nothing!
When Betfair see prices like 32 for the RSA and 50 for the Arkle you can guarantee somethings wrong, because if there wasn"t those prices would have gone during the night! Somebody somewhere is letting the public down with their PR responsibilities!January 17, 2010 at 19:26 #270494Patience is a virtue,3 times today i have asked the Racing Post for an update and finally they have just posted something! This is a trade newspaper, who should have picked up on these concerning drifts before now!
January 17, 2010 at 21:06 #270526To be a King there are times when you have to stand up and be counted, you have to come out fighting when your back is against the wall and be prepared to fall by the sword,if the sword reflects the error in your ways! Mikael d"Haguenet was 32 on Betfair this morning for the RSA at Cheltenham,i have £200 worth of Ante-Post bets on this horse and have been backing him for 8 months, the best price i have got is 7/1,so if i am going to fall with this horse then i may aswell go out with a bang,so i have had a whole tenner on at 30 for the RSA and another fiver on at 40 for the Arkle,he is 150 for the Champion hurdle!!!! surely Not!
January 18, 2010 at 10:59 #2706022 months and counting!Thats how long Willie Mullins has, to get Mikael d"Haguenet fit and well for Cheltenham. It looks like the last chance saloon will be the "Moriarty," the 1st week in February, even if he gets there, there is every chance of a re-occurence of this stiffness he is suffering from.Anxious times for those of us who play Ante-Post!What is also frustrating is i would bet my Crown Willie will tell the world he would have run him in the RSA and that race was always going to be his target! If its causing me a bit of anxiety, god knows what its making connections think! Its like having a Bugatti Veyron sat on your drive and all you want to do is show the neighbours how good the machine is but you cant get in it because you have a bad back!!
