Sorry, Ruby – I meant the Old Course. The New Course is used on the Thursday and Friday.
It is difficult to be confident about anything in this race now but I still think L’Eau Du Sud is not without a chance. At least he will go there fresh this year. And if the Arkle is put to one side, his other performances over fences at Cheltenham have been good.
7/2 gone about Marine Nationale now.
You will just have to force yourself to make do with Margot now, HDLG..
I agree difficult to be confident. Would rather sit and see what its doing on the day (the ground) even if missing a few points. Marine ran ok and its only a prep for him but didnt look to enjoy it today to me, didnt travel with his usual zest.
He didn’t run great last season either however he’ll be cherry ripe for March , not surprised the 7/2 has gone , far to big and the prof punters will have wolved that down

But he did run better than this year. He was only beaten by 2 lengths at the DRF in 2025.
I’ve already backed Majborough and I was hoping he’d run well today but that exceeded expectations. Of course there may be a totally different result at the Festival but take away the horrendous mistake two out in the Arkle and he’d be two for two.
With little rain forecast, Majborough will be on the drift and Il Etait Temps and Marine Nationale will shorten
Has Skelton said he intends to run Thistle Ask in this as well? He’s short of what’s required on form, and I probably will go with LDS on the day but thistle ask bouncing out and holding on for a place would t be the biggest shock.
