Not for me. It would be disastrous for a sport which is already adept in kicking itself in the nuts on a regular basis.

Energumene v Shishkin at Ascot was well up there in the best NH races of the Millenium. Energumene going up to a lesser race would be disastrous for the sport.

I’ll likely end up with egg on my face but I really fancy Nube Negra. Reckon there’ll be a fair bit of zip in the ground by Wednesday and that could find Shishkin run off his feet. That and a combination of a tough race at Ascot could find him and Energumene out. Chacun Pour Soi’s not one I’d ever take to over here, but the Skelton horse comes here fresh and is always rock solid at Cheltenham.
Mick Fitz is of the opinion Shishkin is better than Spintre Sacre. A bold statement.

HDLG I’m taking Cue Card over Energumene every day of the week and Sprinter laughed at him.
Really not a fan of these comparisons. Altior was a top top horse, as is Shishkin but I really don’t think either are remotely comparable to Sprinter Sacre. Simply in a league of his own at his peak.
Just a side note in case this post seems hypocritical. It’s not the comparison of horses I find tedious, it’s trying to put these Hendo horses together as if they all are of similar ability. No, Sprinter is quite simply some way clear.
