Realise I am in the minority on Gove, HDLG.

He did ging. And even starmer has accepted brexit is here to stay. This has nothing to do with it at all

It’s about the party simply looking ridiculous with this rubbish as leader.

“Ginge if Boris had been competent he should have been in a untouchable position with that majority , his lies and failures have brought him down not a group or individual”.

    ———————-

    I agree HDLG.
Boris has done some good things, but has made too many mistakes and too many lies.

Ginge the bad massively outweighs the good , I’m 44 and the only PM who had a positive effect on this country in my adulthood was Blair …sad but true , Starmer is far from perfect but in my eyes we need a steady hand and his is the steadiest , his comments last night couldn’t have been uttered at a better time , will Boris have the gall to do PMQs tomorrow

“Ian what did he say ? The last few week’s weeks he’s been like Boris straight man….surely he didn’t say Boris can stay”

I’ve got to say his defence of Johnson – and playing down of the whole situation, in a historical context, in that inimitable style of his – is one of the most amusing things I’ve ever seen in politics.

He’s on Sky News now calling the interviewer “Old Bean” while regaling him with stories of how other PMs got through worse back in the day – Lord Salisbury in the 19th century was my personal highlight.

Cant defend him for the ever growing list of shenanigans but
if it wasnt for the incumbent government England would’ve been under covid-related restrictions right thru the Winter, and come March, just gone, the living with covid freedoms wouldnt have been introduced by Labour and/or Lib Dems.
Both the named parties (and SNP) would’ve defo been more swayed by the various public health boffins.
In mid-March the Lib Dems tabled a Regret motion in the Lords with reservations about HMG’s living with covid strategy.
The likely less liberal approach to people’s actions/movements, proposed by various public health bods and certain scientists, are more likely to be introduced if the Lab/Lib Dems were in power.
I’ll probably be in a small minority come next GE but this will likely sway my vote.
I hate government control, the nanny state and everything that comes with it.

That’s a fair point Wilts but Boris was also the man quoted as saying ” let the bodies pile up ” was it done the benefit of the country or the benefit of him ? … In Years to come when the relevant inquiries are completed we,ll stand in disbelieve at the incompetence

I suspect all public ‘bodies’ will be cited in any future enquiry. Who can forget the NHS “Stay home” dont bother us message when covid kicked off?
That strapline must’ve cost 000s of lives as peeps struggled to breathe at home and by the time they or a fam member called 999 it was far too late.

England’s ‘exit’ from restrictions was Euro leading. It allowed me and millions to just get back to living, travel abroad, make our own decisions, without some public health media-hogging bozo to try to control our lives.
Jeez, that particular ‘crowd’ are at it again over the last week calling for levels of restrictions. Some limp wristed Lib Dem MP was spouting off in The Mirror today warning peeps about foreign hols as cases rise. Just #### off back in yer box! (Aimed at the LD MP, not anyone on here ;-) )

He pushed the vaccinations ….In my eyes his only win and let’s be honest it was common sense …remember he missed a load of cobra meeting when’s covid was first starting ….his eyes were never on the ball

That to me was his best moment wilts. He faced down the sage clowns and shrieking from much of the media and clearly took the evidence from the (non Oxbridge, non male, non white) South African experts who had the true experience intelligence and knowledge but were effectively called liars by Whitty (as I’ve said too many times)

It was quite a call in truth regardless of what anyone thinks of him and he was right

Yes Clive, the way ‘the rest’ questionned the SA ‘experience’ with Omicron, back in November, was and remains an absolute disgrace for our home-based scientists and medical peeps. As for Pretend Sage – a bunch of anti-Tory political boffins led by a lifelong member of the British Communist Party.

    Agree.

Old ground but right on bot( counts. Fake sages claims look laughable now and had nothing to do with science. Their reverential exposure In the media was appalling
