Regal Encore has been retired at the age of 15.

He was an absolute yard legend, particularly at Ascot where he ran 18 times & either won or placed on 10 visits.

Regal Encore will spend his retirement at Honeyball’s stable.

He raced at a high level for 11 years – incredible!

Thanks vf. Regal Encore was a wonderful racehorse who remarkably performed at a very high level for over a decade. His exploits were so varied too – everything from second in the Festival bumper to two Grand National completions.

The end of his career deserves far more attention than it has received to date. It would be nice if a race was named after him at his beloved Ascot.

Master McShee retired due to a career-ending injury. What a shame, and I very much hope he recovers as it sounds quite serious – the report in the Racing Post talks of “hoping he can be saved”.
