Would Cobden be going to Ascot if he’d won the Charlie Hall?
I don’t think so.
They’d be keeping the partnership together.
Do you really think Nicholls is going to diss in public either his stable jockey or the owners of his best racehorse? Of course both the trainer and owner are going to come up with excuses why they’ve changed jockeys..Value Is EverythingNovember 25, 2023 at 13:48 #1671727“Would Cobden be going to Ascot if he’d won the Charlie Hall?

November 25, 2023 at 13:52 #1671729Bravemansgame boosted to Evens so taken some of that for a bit of extra interest.

Are you a clairvoyant, Mike?
November 25, 2023 at 14:01 #1671734Of the three Skelton horses I said had a good chance prior to the Betfair, two have run well and one ran very poorly. I wouldn’t say Skelton’s form is good at the moment, but certainly isn’t as bad as it looked before racing today.
Value Is EverythingNovember 25, 2023 at 14:48 #1671748I wonder if Cobden knew he had such a good book of rides at Ascot today…turning out well for him. Protektorat for me. The fact that he’s had his wind tightened up doesn’t put me off, and if he wins today they might try to get the maximum out of his palate before the effect wears off and run him in the King George this year (I’ve had a go at 20s ew) or the Savills as it’s left handed (no market for that yet annoyingly)…probably wherever the ground is softer.
BMG on the other hand will have his wind tested today.
November 25, 2023 at 14:50 #1671751Protektorat for me this is his target and Skelton hitting the targets today albeit those were on their second starts.
The more I know the less I understand.
November 25, 2023 at 15:07 #1671757wow. wd winners.
November 25, 2023 at 15:08 #1671758Pleased with that!
November 25, 2023 at 15:08 #1671759Money for Royal P’ told.
Well done winners.
Value Is EverythingNovember 25, 2023 at 15:11 #1671760Winner has his own way of jumping at times but only beaten once at Haydock by a Gold Cup winner and first time out against a race fit rival that was some run.
Oh dear BMG……could well have left the King George behind with that grueling run – he stays well enough but anything over 3m (which I think is his optimum trip) clearly stretches him.
Wonder what Cobden is thinking now?
November 25, 2023 at 15:11 #1671761I’m glad Venetia had him fit for today. As already mentioned the Festival is not the only meeting to target during a seven month period of NH racing.
Well done to the rest…November 25, 2023 at 15:12 #1671762Well done all of you on, great run.
There goes BMG’s King George? Had a hard race and the jockey had no choice but to get after him.
Protek far too flamboyant and practically landed on the 4th, but also folded quite tamely several fences out.November 25, 2023 at 15:14 #1671763Glad Shishkin didn’t run, he would have been legless. In fact perhaps Shishkin’s own racing planning today may be the best of all.
November 25, 2023 at 15:18 #1671765I don’t believe Bravemansgame was ever going that well. He jumped quite a few of the fences very big, which is not a good sign.
I would not give up on him for the King George but it was clearly not ideal.
November 25, 2023 at 15:21 #1671767The way Protektorat jumped the fences in the home straight it was just a matter of time for him to run out of fuel. Maybe it’s horse, but it is also the jockey….
November 25, 2023 at 15:24 #1671769WD winners some shocking jumping by Protektorat.
The more I know the less I understand.
