Further to that it seems rule 55.2 does seem to allow change of places in case of accidental interference. That said the interaction of rules 54 and 55 are a bit convoluted.

I dunno Rob- nothing was said about Rachael’s riding in my example:

The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last hurdle involving Cuneo (FR), ridden by Rachael Blackmore, placed first and Relegate, ridden by R. Walsh, placed third, where it appeared that Cuneo (FR) landed to the left and impeded Relegate. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Cuneo (Fr) had improved it’s placing in relation to Relegate with which it interfered and therefore reversed the placings of these horses with the amended result to read; 1st Satoshi, 2nd Relegate, 3rd Cuneo (FR). The Stewards took no further action.

If Enrilo had drifted because his bit or right rein broke after the last and Harry was not deemed at fault at all, I think the result would still have been amended just he wouldn’t have got a ban.

    It’s always happened rob.

A recent example I’ve just found on the BHA website. Newbury 1.10 on the 16th April read the stewards report. Of course in that example they didn’t change the result because they considered the accidental interference didn’t affect the result, not because no riding offence was committed.
Plenty have been changed over the years with no riding offence, they should be if interference occurs that affects the result.

No win for me I’m sorry to say, with it being an Antepost bet.

I can’t really complain though, he couldn’t really have kept it, and it’ll his demotion was the correct decision.

I backed Enrilo Antepost with Bet365 and was surprised (and delighted!) when they paid out in full. I suspect that their magnanimity won’t stretch to giving me a free bet on the next ITV race however!

Just after 48 hour decs Oscar. I did contact them a few weeks back to check on something with that offer, because i took a price above the 4/1 and it won less than 4/1 and they confirmed it is based on the price you took originally regardless of what it starts at. Quite good to know that as i always thought it was the SP. :good:

The question is though, botchy, does their free bet offer depend on actually backing a designated winner, or does it include backing a first past the post (later disqualified)?
I might just trust to luck here, since getting an unexpected winning payout is already a bit of a freebie!

A friend is an owner in Kitty’s Light, they accepted pretty early they wouldn’t get promoted to 1st as they knew the rules. To be honest, for my friend he is just thrilled to be involved with the horse and is proving a fairy tale for them considering how cheap they picked him up for.
