He’ll run if the ground is no worse than Good to Soft.
Cheers. Praying for sunshine, he kickstarts most of my bets at 20/1….hope he runs, sure he will place at the very least.
No one better than Geraghty in these races.
Got him, Trifolium and Dodging Bullets at bigger prices.
March 3, 2014 at 17:58 #469865Grandouet did not work well yet there has been money for him over the weekend? Now biggest price 12/1. I still think we haven’t seen the best of him over fences and his last run was awful nowhere near his best. I’m tempted…
March 3, 2014 at 18:26 #469867The problem is with grandouet he hasn’t looked the best jumper in the world.I’ve always thought the horse isn’t the greatest in a battle even if he jumps better and gets to 2 out going well.I can see him getting worried out off it coming up the hill

I love the horse to bits however Andrew Tinkler said ‘he would have fallen in a jumpers bumper’ – exaggerated but far from helpful.
March 4, 2014 at 10:26 #469912At the current odds dont you think they is no value in CF?.They should be sum serious pace in the race with CF and Rock on ruby!
Im on from 6s so I am happy with that price. However I would still b happy to take 3s. I think he will win the race and I would be happy getting back treble my stake for backing that belief.
I’ve had a saver on Trifolium. I don’t think ROR will win. Patrick Mullins – hurricane fly as broken that horse lol
March 4, 2014 at 10:40 #469915Backing Grandouet is the road to the poor house IMO. Abysmal strike rate, consistently flattering to deceive. I’ve followed him in the past and was not convinced about him going over fences so promised myself to give him a swerve in this sphere. I’ve seen nothing to change my mind.
He’s definately got the class and talent to win an Arkle somewhere within, but all the other attributes needed are missing IMO.
Cue he romps in
March 5, 2014 at 14:58 #470095Any firm statements from Mullins on Felix Yonger yet ?
An attractive price for a horse who’ll appreciate the drying ground. Presumed he’d go for the old Jewson but he’d have a chance in this.March 5, 2014 at 15:16 #470096From earlier
"At the moment we’re also looking at the JLT for Felix Yonger as well. He is more ground dependant. He prefers good ground so the going will dictate where we go. He found it difficult to get out of the heavy ground at Limerick over the Christmas and again when running second in the Irish Arkle behind Trifolium.
He found the good going at Cheltenham much more to his liking over hurdles last year when he finished second to Simonsig in the Neptune so the better the ground, the better his chances this time around. We’ll see what the ground is like closer to the day but with the Arkle on the Tuesday and the JLT on the Thursday, the latter race will give us two more days for the ground to dry out, if needs be."
With the ground drying by the minute I’m still slightly hopeful he’ll head here.

March 5, 2014 at 16:17 #470099Only one more burst of rain due before the Festival.
If its Good to Soft on Sunday i’d like to think they went for the Arkle with Felix Yonger, too
March 5, 2014 at 16:20 #470101Felix younger got a tough task to turn the form around with trifolium for me

Beat him easily on Good ground earlier in the season.
March 5, 2014 at 16:49 #470109Anno but trifolium looked very useful in the irish arkle returned the favour! best jumping performance i’ve seen all season imo

Different ground, different day. Felix Yonger has beaten two very good yardsticks on Good ground, something he hasn’t been able to perform on in months
March 6, 2014 at 13:21 #470206Champagne Fever :
25 of the last 27 winners finished first or second last time out
9 of the last 11 winners had three to five runs over fences
Just 1 winning front-running performance since 1980
10 of the last 11 winners had a pre-race RPR of at least 151A look at the race card and CF has an RPR of 152. However, looking at the trainer stats, the highest RPR for the horse is 142 ?

Valdez for me then!
March 6, 2014 at 19:14 #470242I was quite impressed with Rock on Ruby’s jumping last time, against mr mole, except for the last where he more overjumped then anything and pecked on landing!
March 8, 2014 at 23:42 #470496But his chase times weren’t anything, he wasn’t pushed, that and up against only 1 poor horse each time is nothing like having to perform in a big field of quality horses and needing to be at his best to win.
He’s a risk that’s for sure, obviously a quality horse and has a chance, but in my opinion his age and inexperience is surely enough to steer clear at that price??
You know what that all means? He’ll jump flawlessly and win by 10 lengths!
