“£2.3 billion towards prison builds over the next two years, with a target to open up 14,000 places by 2031
As part of the 10-year strategy to make sure we can always lock up dangerous criminals, prisons will be deemed sites of national importance, preventing lengthy planning delays, and new land will be acquired for future prisons
Part of Plan for Change and work to end prison capacity crisis, in parallel with the Independent Sentencing Review “.
So Labour are trying to address the problem; yet another thing they are not publicising enough…

The point I was making is that when people suggest that there is racism within Reform you get accused of trying to shut down debate by screaming racist. The lack of criticism from her own party speaks volumes I think. Only mealy mouthed ‘not the language I would have used’ fake criticism from Tory Philp.

It’s rather extraordinary language for an elected politician to be using and a complete disgrace as far as I am concerned.

But Reform can’t be racist – they have Zia Yusuf!

Just like the Tories can’t be racist, due to Sunak, Patel, Braverman, Kwarteng, Badenoch, et al!

Richard did the people jump up and down and scream (on the left) when the scottish leaders were banging on about WHITE this white that. Now I think you should be allowed to say what you feel and not the need to apologise if it is deemed way over the top (racist woman hating ) the any level headed person would jump on the with heavy boots from all side I hope.
As for the comments by the Reform lady if you look at what said she does have a point if you go on percentages of the country(hope that dont make racist) Like I say its got to go both ways for a fair society

Anyway thats enough from me for for my bi monthly head scan for the poxy illness

I’ve got to be honest here and say that I used to do market research surveys years ago so I’m always interested in tv adverts and for several years now I’ve been puzzled by the way that there are so few adverts featuring white people. If someone was judging the demographic of this country purely from watching adverts they would think that white people make up 10% of the population. So Reform voters who live in some areas where there is a higher population of immigrants will think that the whole country is the same. And it’s something that I’ve never dared say to anyone outside of my home for fear of looking racist ( which I really hope I’m not).

She could have raised lad the point without saying it ‘drives her mad’. Imagine sitting there watching TV and being driven ‘mad’ by the casting of the adverts. I thought her party was against equality, diversity and inclusion. That can work both ways.

If she’s so concerned about over-representation of minority groups then presumably she’ll be contacting all broadcasters to tell them to curtail the Reform coverage to bring it in line with its number of seats in Parliament.

I also look forward to the next slate of Reform candidates being fully representative of the ethnic, age, gender, disability etc profile of the country.

    Me neither.

It may of course be far more simple. Ultimately an advertiser’s job is to shift product so they will therefore attempt to do so in whatever way they feel is most effective, within the law. Last time I checked chimps don’t drink tea but it doesn’t seem to have done PG Tips any harm.

So Labour are trying to address the problem; yet another thing they are not publicising enough…

But not addressing it in the right way IMO. A better way to deal with prison overcrowding is to send fewer people there in the first place, not construct more prisons(which won’t happen because there aren’t enough people to build them irrespective of changes to planning etc).

There needs to be a complete review and overhaul of the judicial system, but as with so many other things it won’t get done because it will take a long time and require radical thinking when politicians cannot see beyond the next election date. This is one of the reasons why the country continues to struggle no matter which party is in control although it almost goes without saying that things would be considerably worse if Reform were ever elected.

Funny how she noticed the skin colour , not the colour of there hair , is she mad as hell with the lack of ginger haired people in adverts , it’s ok I’m sure Farage will deal with this strongly and promptly , er hang on .. Oh he’s said nothing to see here , this is Reforms problem , you can pretend not to be a cannibal but at some point they’ll have to have a nibble on someone arm

Rory Stewart has been saying this for ages.
Going back to the Reform lady, it makes me think of eg mass murderers caught because of an out of date tax disc. Of all the vile racist things that Reform in their various incarnations have said the thing that they have really shot themselves in the foot with is probably the one thing they’ve ever said that I’ve even slightly agreed with.

Don’t see many adverts as I usually record stuff on ITV etc and forward wind them. One advert I have noticed a lot is some lass called Molly May doing her washing…AGAIN. If she’s the only white person in adverts she’s on that often she must have over 50 percent of the advert airtime. Does more washing than Johnson’s.

Those adverts are to counteract the other washing pod adverts by Vogue Williams that take up the other 50% of the time. They annoy me because pods are bad for the environment and I can’t see what’s wrong with good old fashioned washing powder…
