As president of the countryside alliance and totally opposed to any ban on hunting she’s hardly imo your typical Labour peer. I would imagine she’ as supportive of the present Labour government as Dianne Abbott is.
December 31, 2024 at 08:08 #1717099The wonderful honours system.
Sadiq Khan: a knighthood for turning London into the knife crime capital of the world.
And impeccable lefty (but Establishment crony) Stephen Fry is given the knighthood he has craved for so long.
Funny how these left wingers like Sir Keir Starmer are so happy to accept honours with the words “British Empire” in it.
Then again, the British Establishment has never been to fussy about who it esteems:

January 4, 2025 at 10:50 #1717459Why are Reform ‘a threat’? A threat to who ?
Why a Reform/Tory coalition?January 4, 2025 at 20:42 #1717535I’m trying to not watch the news much these days; it’s too depressing. But whenever I do Farage seems to be on and I swear at the tv have to switch off immediately. As leader of a party with just a handful of MP’s (all of them pretty vile) he gets an awful lot of publicity and air time. He terrifies me.
January 4, 2025 at 22:22 #1717543Jeremy Corbyn frightened me just as much.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 5, 2025 at 03:59 #1717545Jeremy Corbyn is history. Farage, alas, appears to be the future. Along with his pals Musk and Trump.
January 5, 2025 at 07:19 #1717546I can’t do with Farage but he is right there should be a national inquiry into the rape gangs which happened years and years ago and why they were allowed, if so, to get away with what they did. Now that is vile.
At least Farage has always said this, unlike the Tories who did not grant this when in government, but now suddenly want one.
January 5, 2025 at 11:24 #1717559moehat “ He terrifies me”.
Quite a statement. In what way does he terrify you? There must be specific’s?
January 5, 2025 at 11:51 #1717562Farage is not the future , he,s not a new broom , he’s triggers broom , numerous new heads and shafts , let’s remember he failed 7 yes 7 previous times to get into the commons , reform aren’t going to win an election …it’s a chess game to get himself high up in the Tories …
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 5, 2025 at 17:05 #1717599There have been inquiries into the rape gangs but the previous government haven’t acted on their findings ( to my knowledge). So I don’t understand why Labour are now taking all the blame for it. As for Farage: he sickens me. He makes my flesh crawl. I have to turn the television off when he’s on it ( which seems to be all the time). He is a racist. He never turned up for meetings when he was an MEP even though he was supposed to be speaking for the fishing industry. He has brought out the worst in many people in this country; made it acceptable to be racist under the guise of being patriotic. He’s a snake oil salesman with the gift of the gab and yet so many people can’t see him for what he really is.
January 5, 2025 at 17:30 #1717601Why are Reform a threat?
Foreign billionaires have no right to interfere with our democracy and try to overthrow the government, they don’t live here and don’t pay taxes here.
Not my words, the words of Richard Tice. Unclear then why he and his party have, as far as I am aware, not told Musk to jog on and mind his own business.
January 5, 2025 at 19:16 #1717605moehat, so what is a racist and what proof do you have Nigel is one?
Richard, so it was quite okay then for Labour to send 100 of their people to try to interfere with democracy and the result of the election in America?
Sounds very hypocritical from you?January 5, 2025 at 20:01 #1717608January 6, 2025 at 08:39 #1717619Richard, so it was quite okay then for Labour to send 100 of their people to try to interfere with democracy and the result of the election in America?
Sounds very hypocritical from you?First of all I didn’t comment on that so you have no idea what I think about it but the two are not remotely comparable. That is far from the first instance of Labour members volunteering to help the Democrats out and similar co-operation has happened in the past between the Conservatives and Republicans and nobody batted an eyelid. If Musk wants to come over to knock on doors and hand out leaflets for Reform he’s perfectly entitled to do so.
It’s a world away from posting a constant stream of what is politely called ‘misinformation’ which demonstrates that he has next to zero understanding of our political and legal systems and that’s before we get to the large sums of money there has been talk of him donating. Farage was whining about the Labour members going over, Tice criticised foreign billionaires trying to interfere with our politics when it was others doing it. Now someone wants to interfere on their behalf suddenly it’s fine. Remind me who the hypocrites are.
January 7, 2025 at 12:23 #1717674Richard, just because Musk has found a new way to try to influence people it is much the same thing Labour did try to influence people so quite why you are calling him out, and is hypocritical from you.
And it still does not answer why you think Reform are a threat, a threat to who?
January 7, 2025 at 14:24 #1717676Have you actually bothered to watch the link I posted about Farage who just happens to be leader of the ‘not a threat’ Reform limited company? Do you not think that a party led by someone like him is dangerous?
