    Dan Hodges also says

It must be true then. Does Dan Hodges present evidence or does he just ‘say’?

It doesn’t matter what the tories/reform/greens say , it’s what the backbenchers say , he going to cling on to be council elections but that is likely to be the fatal wound , who takes over is the hard one …

Of this poor lot only Ed Davey calls it out as it is by regularly thrashing Trumpety Trump. He the ony one who is neither a woman nor a gelding.

So you have forgiven the postmasters debacle?

No, I have NOT forgotten the postmasters debacle. There are numerous people involved in this scandal; many of whom should have been prosecuted. But practically every politician makes mistakes. The worst thing the LibDems ever did was to campaign to reduce tuition fees and then under pressure from the Tories tripled them.

But we must work out what the best option is in the current situation. Definitely not Reform nor the Conservatives.

Starmer sends another one of his ‘lambs’ to the media slaughterhouse, this morning.

Douglas Alexander, Scottish secretary, getting absolutely slaughtered by Ed and Susannah Reid on GMB over the Mandelson debacle.

Given your right wing politics and dislike of lying charlatans, who would you vote for if an election were held tomorrow, to borrow a phrase from a poll you recently posted.

Still waiting. Anyone on the right care to answer before I add it to pile of inconvenient questions that remain unanswered?

He’s done enough to save himself , however the elections will finish him , there’s no due diligence to hide behind there , he’s obviously a very smart man but Jesus Abbott hit the nail on the head , everyone knows what Mandelson was/is , why did he have anything to do with him

Starmer just go that was truly embarrassing in front of the whole world, now I don’t want him gone but that is our leader  , oh well have to wait till may, who would replace him,
Any labour people or ex supporters who would take the reins?

Tbh in a human point of view felt a touch sorry for him, he looked tired and ill and I don’t wish that on anyone, apart from spurs fans B-)

I wish he would go. He’s had one problem after another since he became PM most of them not of his own making. He’s worked tirelessly both at home and abroad. Some of the people I know on other forums that are gleefully watching this were, at one time, saying how they wished we had a strong leader like Trump ( they seem to have conveniently forgotten that, though).Don’t think the people in this country deserve such a hard working PM especially with the right wing press constantly telling everyone how awful he is. It sickens me that he will be gone when people in the Epstein files remain and Trump and Farage will be able to gloat over his demise.

….”most of them not of his own making.”

    Hmmm…..
    Like 13 or 14 policy u-turns.

And no more so than this debacle. Jeez even his own team are wondering why the hell he even considered Mandelson. That bloke has more baggage than an Italian market bags stall.

Starmer’s no leader; he’s been at the mercy of his backbenchers for the last year. Large majority Westminster governments always have issues with their backbenchers. His government cabinet are no different.

The thing is British PMs dont have the singular power that the modern media and the public think. Yes, there’s undue scrutiny of PMs and ‘we’ like to paint a picture of an individual PM but our political system is actually NOT presidential, so the constant focus on a PM is quite ‘misleading’.

I’ve thought he should’ve gone months ago, but now i’d like him to stay as PM, as he’s such an electoral liability for Labour ;-) .

Who would i vote for if there was an election?

Not sure right now. Our locality has no local council elections next month.

If there was a GE this week?

Hmm…..defo a party to The Right, but no one has convinced me, thus far.

Why do you want him to stay if you think he’s a liability? Might it not be better to want what’s best for the country? Which party to the right do you actually think are capable of governing at the moment? The Conservatives have lost most of their good MP’s and Reform are just a load of tax dodging racists.

The part of the political spectrum that likes to paint itself as ‘patriotic’ is anything but most of the time.

I quite agree that there is too much focus on individuals. The chummy language of the media referring to politicians that started with ‘Boris’ didn’t help. All brought to you by the same people who like to tell you that Parliament is sovereign then forget all about it.

Every PM is at the mercy of my he backbenchers , there’s no Maggie’s left and remember it was the party not the he public who finished her , I’m guessing Raynor will attack after the elections and I reckon she’ll get enough behind her to get him out , however she has her own baggage …
