Wouldn’t be t first time one of Hendo’s has disappointed at the festival only to come back and win! I have been backing him for a while as JP loves any winners there as we all know

Kid Cassidy GDC? Glad to know I’m not alone in my views, if he runs he’ll surely be close to going off favourite again.
Kid Cassidy

Kid Gloves more like!
January 9, 2013 at 21:47 #425809Very tricky race indeed but the fav will have to be very special to win this!
I like Kid Cassidy very much but knowing which one of Hendo’s is ‘off’ for the race is a nightmare lol
January 9, 2013 at 21:50 #425810I’ve been bigging up my ‘Supreme’ horse recently at 10/1,I’ve had the odd score or 5 at 14’s and 12’s and was hoping to see his recent scalp ‘Taquin de seuil’ run a big race in the Grade 1 Challow hurdle,we need a few Grade 1 winners to put it down to GDC’s ‘Jezki’ come March. The form got the boost I’d hoped then it was down to
My Tent or Yours
to canter round at 1/3………Oh he did that alright!! Anyway to cut a long story short he now trades at 20/1 with Ladbrokes….TWENTY TO ONE!! I dont know who their Odds compiler was that pushed him out to twice his original price but he’d had more than a glass of sherry! Anyone who knows their A*se from their elbow knows that ‘My Tent or Yours’ hates being pitched on a Campsite resembling Glastonbury, come March this fellow will be single figures so as per usual I’ll be going to the pre fancy dress party with prices to suit! Thank You Ladbrokes you can now cut him into 16/1!
My Tent or Yours
£50 e/w 20/1 Ladbrokes Supreme hurdle.
£50 e/w 20/1 Ladbrokes
£50 e/w 20/1 Ladbrokes.‘Money talks,money talks Dirty Cash I want you Dirty Cash I need you more’
Just had another 5 ponies on today with Stan James as Ladbrokes would only give me 14/1……..I wonder why?My Tent or yours
£50 e/w 16/1 Stan James ‘Supreme’ Cheltenham.

January 10, 2013 at 00:21 #425827If I may interject, folks – to use a favourite phrase of Broadway Danny Rose – I’m keen on Zarkandar for the Champion Hurdle.
Definately the biggest danger to all ‘Grimes’ imo,his form through ‘Raya star’ gives him the beating of
Darlan
but thats only if you interpret form literally,I think mines got more scope than yours so there!
May I suggest you having a little gander at last years Tote Gold Trophy, watch yours all the way through then watch mine,it would have been a 1,2 for sure but in what order? Admittedly ‘Zarkandar’ was giving ‘Darlan’ 5lb that day but like I’ve said many times in the past my fellow will improve past that defeat….And he has, lets hope they both turn up as both will battle to the line.Good Luck!
Thanks, Gord. Likewise. But to more pressing matters… I wonder if any of you have spotted the breeding of a lightly-raced horse, quite low in the weights in a Meydan handicap tomorrow, who won his last race, a Group 2 in Seth Efrica. A horse trained by De Kock called Amanee. It’s out of Miesque by Pivotal and ridden by Soumillon. Second favourite, when I bet on it hours ago at 5s.
CORRECTION: the dam is out of Miesque by Woodman.Timeform tab in ATR Race-by-race guides pointed me in its direction, suggesting the handicapper might have made a boo-boo with it.
January 10, 2013 at 00:24 #425829I stupidly backed HBS for the Welsh National ante post, his performance at Sandown was pretty abject, but should do better at Warwick as the fences at Sandown can be pretty unforgiving. This Pete the Feat looks another Hunt Ball in the making, though, the best jumper I’ve seen since Hello Bud.
Love Pete’s breeding rich! Always encouraging if they do it on the track.
January 10, 2013 at 19:31 #425888Looks like Mcmanus has gone and bought himself a Jezki, Gord. This done anything to mellow your feelings on his other(surely less highly regarded) string My Tent Or Yours?

Sorry about that folks, if you did bet on it. I should have known better than to tip on Meydan races. Even on Saturdays in the UK, when I get out of trouble, it’s with with horse I fancy less than my main fancies.
Here’s a comment on his run in the RP after-race coverage:
‘Amanee was reportedly using this as a prep for the Cape Verdi, but her finishing kick was non-existent,…’
Well, it was shortest distance he’d run, so I won’t give up on him yet.
January 10, 2013 at 21:01 #425904You certainly got me with that one Grimes,I had a look but had no idea about her form though…No change there I hear you say!
Keep the faith mate, there’s plenty more racing from the desert to come and Mr de Kock dodges away.January 10, 2013 at 21:18 #425908Did u read my question about Jezki, Gord? Well, more concerning My Tent Or Yours actually. Looks like Mcmanus has purchased the Harrington horse, surely meaning he’d consider him his number one for the Supreme. Any thoughts with regards to your fancy?
January 10, 2013 at 22:01 #425914Looks like Mcmanus has gone and bought himself a Jezki, Gord. This done anything to mellow your feelings on his other(surely less highly regarded) string My Tent Or Yours?
Sorry boz missed that one! What that purchase tells me is that JP rates this
Jezki
very highly and being the fav for the ‘Supreme’ only cements that point.Obviously his team have discussed this and it would seem that
My Tent or Yours
is obviously not rated good enough to beat ‘Jezki’,however I wouldn’t be too concerned about JP having 2 or 3 runners in the race as he does it regularly………….and its not always the first colours that prevail,I’m of the opinion my selection is a proper ‘Supreme’ type and thats why I have snaffled all the 20/1.Would I take 3rd place now though?
January 10, 2013 at 22:16 #425916Assuming AP would ride Jezki then, would be interesting to see if Geraghty chooses My Tent Or Yours. The last time he lined up against him he beat him on one of Nicky’s
January 10, 2013 at 22:20 #425917I keep playing last years ‘Albert Bartlett’ and the more I watch it the more I’m of the opinion that Campbell Gillies out witted Ruby Walsh, its a great race to watch but I am convinced the horse to take from the race is
Boston Bob
,I like ‘Bob Backs’ as a sire but breeding isn’t something I prioritise with 3m chasers, however one of my all time fav chasers was
Kildimo
and through the sire ‘Le Bavard’ I see these 2 horses are related and I’m of the opinion ‘Boston bob’ is going to prove a proper staying chaser that ticks every box as an RSA type.
Boston bob

I’d be happy for Paul Carberry to ride,he rode
Bellvano
to beat the fav
Kid Cassidy
in last years Grand annual! So long as
My Tent or yours
lines up I’ll be happy Boz.

Sorry to drag the matter further Gord but surely if both Mccoy and Geraghty rejected the ride it’d be hugely off-putting from a punting perspective?

I’m hoping Willie gets another run into him sooner rather than later in all honesty. I’ve noticed him in the market for the Irish Arkle but I’m not totally sure if a crack at Arvika Ligeonniere is what he needs with only one run over fences under his belt, especially with the latter being such a speedy sort who’ll put pressure on his jumping. This is of course if Willie decides to run both.
He’s carrying my cash also Gord so I’m just hoping the road to Cheltenham is a smooth one
January 10, 2013 at 23:30 #425921I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Boston Bob run in the Irish Arkle. Cooldine ran over 2 miles at Christmas before his RSA win and if Willie thinks it will sharpen him up without having a slog then fair enough. The obvious race would seem to be the Moriarty though, if he won that well he’d be a short price in March.

It’s not the race or length of it that particularly bothers me Tommy, it’s the idea of AL’s speed putting an inordinate amount of pressure on his jumping. Given the fact he’s only had one spin over fences which was pretty underwhelming(don’t get me wrong I’m sure he’ll have come on plenty for it), I’d see the Moriarty as the more obvious choice like you say. We will need to see a much improved performance though.
