Oh aye Gordon, what’s this ?…. a few upper class glasses of the bubbly and you are revealing all your secrets. A gang of knights in silk robes and goatee beards meet in a forest and give you all these tips you use to portray yourself as a king. Do the grand wizards of the Turkish sauna club give you your golf tips ? …i think Mountbazon will be better than Trifollium who you and THM seem to like, so we will see if they both go chasing. What’s your opinion on Cinders and Ashes and the Supreme he won ?…i’ve watched the replay many a time and i can’t make heads nor tails of it. You might get a run for your Arc money if Nathaniel swerves Frankel.
August 31, 2012 at 16:26 #411602Gord any bets this weekend racing not that good
Any thoughts on my last post as well
And did you back Pearl Ice for ayr gold cup as well i know you had it for Goodwood.
August 31, 2012 at 20:06 #411622Darren,I’d have a private wager with yourself that
Best Served cold
beats your ‘Corbally Ghost’ should they meet again, neither of which are going to be RSA horses by the way,as for the Highclere Colt
Telescope
,he’s got Derby written all over his breeding, a Racing Post Trophy entry bodes well but I’d expect a Newmarket maiden over a mile to see him introduced. I fancy nothing for the weekend as we speak but will keep a lookout!

Rumbled Graeme,I’m nothing without my ‘Team’,there’s actually 7 of us registered as TAPK and take turns in posting! How do you think ‘We’ won Poster of the year (Shared actually with Billion)!
You know I rate the ‘Supreme’ as the best individual race of the Jumps season for finding future winners and thats why I rateDarlan
so highly!
‘Cinders and Ashes’ should go Novice chasing imo,he’s a fine stamp of a horse who looks a lot like his very handsome sire,he wont beat mine again should they meet mind!
September 3, 2012 at 19:19 #411912Gord any thoughts on 1000 guineas am gutted over NEWFANGLED i thought she win it next year but we never know now.
A horse i like though no price for her is .ULEAVEMEBREATHLESS
She was unfancied in a maiden was 25/1 but ran a cracker to be 2nd behind a more exposed horse in Snow Queen who could be number 1 filly for AOB in Moyglare this week.So she ran well. today she won her maiden very nice she travel very well in race and won quite easy
She is a group horse in the making. trainer Andy Oliver had a group winner at 2 in cheery hinton already that horse run in moyglare as well. But i think this maiden winner could be a smart horse any thoughts.September 3, 2012 at 20:14 #411923Darren nothing caught my eye more than
Newfangled
too,not only did she have the form in the book,it was the look of her,she was a beauty who travelled like a class filly! We’ve been robbed of a good un there mate and to be honest I have seen nothing that would have got near her.I’ve been Bullish about the 2000gns for a long time and still dont think there’s anything hiding in the wings to touch
Dawn Approach
,10/1 is still too big and I keep nibbling away with fivers and tenners weekly!
The only thing that gives thisUleavemebreatless
any credence is the fact that the runner-up today is a well regarded but slow developing filly at Dermot Welds who will be a 11/2m sort next year, the winner is seriously nothing special mate who will be outpaced on proper summer ground, just my opinion mate but time will tell who’s right eh?

By the way Darren keep updating your notebook with these horses so we can reference them in the future! ala ‘Camelot’!
September 5, 2012 at 11:58 #412093TAPK et al,
Have been given one for this evening at Kempton Park, newcomer from a yard that does OK will fillies, runs in the 800.
Koala Bear has been working well and is very forward and expected to go close and could be a nice prospect.
12s with Stan james currently but as low as 7s in places! Good luck if you play.
September 5, 2012 at 22:40 #412142Gord any thoughts on racing this weekend so much top class racing i like these 3 so far in big races.
DUNTLE.Matron stakes
IMPERIAL MONARCH
BATED BREATHAlso gord would you ever back a unraced horse to win derby the following year 2years ago i backed AMEN who is now at Gary Moore last year i had CAMELOT at 25/1 before he made his debut and i bet on
MARS before debut to win derby next year. But i like this TELESCOPE and may get some of the 40/1 with hills for derby. So would you bet on a unraced horse for a derby.September 6, 2012 at 20:34 #412228Darren when I was a mere slip of a lad I backed plenty of unraced horses for all 4 Classics and not one of them won, from memory I dont think many even made the Race I had backed them for so take it from me you need to see a horse run once before even contemplating an Ante-Post investment. The closest I’ve come to your question would be the once raced
Quest For Fame
at 50/1 he did me proud but I was well aware Roger Charlton had
Sanglamore
and
Deploy
in his care also,Roger landed a place treble with those three ‘Abdullah’ colts in the English,Irish and French Derbys of 1990.
Commander in Chief
will always be the one that got away for me as I was well aware of this colt even as an unraced 2yo and I could have had 66/1 about this son of
Dancing Brave
.
This is a true story Darren, as a teenager I was fortunate enough to land a job in the Motor trade fetching and delivering Sports Cars from the auctions and I always wanted a Fiat Mirafiori Sport in Black, its 2 litre twin cam engine just purred, the car itself was a bloody Rot box but I could pick a good one up for around £2k back then.It was the Autumn of 1985 and I was earning a £100 a week,I was sharing a house with my brother and I probably had a mere £20 left after all my expenses were accounted for………..Then came along a Bay colt by Lyphard,he made his debut on Oct 14th 1985 at Sandown in a 4 runner race, incredibly he opened at Evens and won in a hack canter in what was a surprisingly fast time for a horse never asked a question,William Hills offered me 20/1 and I thought ‘you tight gits’! 2 weeks later he turned up for the ‘Soham’ and won again with ease over what would be the Guineas Mile. William Hills offered me 16/1 and I took it,within an hour they went 14/1 and I took it again, all through the winter of 85 I was backing this fellow for the 86 2000gns at 14/1 and 12/1,there was nothing I feared could touch him, certainly not the 2 Ante-Post favs, ‘Sure Blade’ and ‘Huntingdale’,anyway Darren to cut a long story short he won me my Car.
September 8, 2012 at 14:03 #412419My first Ante-Post bet for a while runs today in the shape of
Bated Breath
,I’m only sitting on 5’s on the machine but I have £300 worth of wagers running on him,if ever a horse deserves a bloody break its him and now that finally the ground has come right for him he ought to be the 5/2fav in my book.I’ll let the horse do the talking as he needs to but I’m quietly confident,Nah I’m positively Bullish actually but he still needs to do it as I dont want excuses from camp Charlton yet again!
September 8, 2012 at 14:40 #412431I have bet
Society Rock
more times this year than I have
Bated Breath
but i honestly thought the Fanshawe horse wanted the opposite ground to what he got today! Sick as a Pig as I never even had a saver on out of loyalty,I stated earlier on in this thread that I thought he was a Certainty for the July Cup!
September 8, 2012 at 15:08 #412436Few horses have had much impact on me this flat season, obviously
Dawn approach
has the most,
Chil the Kite
has a lot of scope but as far as handicappers go this
Gospel Choir
has touched a chord with me,I like everything about this fellow and even with top weight over a trip he’s never encountered I still see him as different class to the whole field,’Biographer’ is no slouch either and he’ll be placed for sure but he just lacks the prescence of the Cheveley Park colt who has plenty resolution, size and a will to win! Good post ‘wildman’ and good luck for tomorrow!
I was hoping this ‘Sun Central’ wasn’t going to run today as he’s weighted to beat
Gospel Choir
and I dont doubt there will be very much between them, however I rate this fellow very highly so am prepared to take the chance he’s improved again.
Gospel Choir
£200 win Betfred Ascot 4,15pm
£6300
September 8, 2012 at 17:49 #412462Gord had a decent day today with SIR GRAHAM WADE how he get out in time.DUNTLE,THISTLE BIRD and KINGSGATE CHOICE other 5horses lost though
What you think of run by TELESCOPE as well.
