Very pleased with Acapella Bourgeois there. Perhaps Burrow’s Saint wasn’t completely wound up for today, but the jockey booking suggested otherwise.
VtC that was actually a really encouraging run from The Long Mile and I dare say that might turn out to be a rather shrewd selection!
February 27, 2021 at 15:08 #1525649Never saw the race , sad to see anibale fly finish last , was he poor or needing the run
February 27, 2021 at 15:10 #1525650Good run from burrows saint
Clearly wasn’t fully wound up
The market made that very obvious
He jumped and travelled nicely before getting tired and given an easy time by townend
All roads lead to Aintree now and think he will take all the beating
February 27, 2021 at 15:12 #1525651Incidentally I’ve topped up on Potter’s Corner and Cabaret Queen on the Exchanges as I noticed they were available at 34 and 373 respectively and I couldn’t resist having a go at those prices.
February 27, 2021 at 16:51 #1525678Good run from Acapella there Peter, you’d be hoping they let him take his chance here.
Yeah, chuffed to bits with The Long Mile there, and at least I know he’s qualified. Now just for the annual plea of “don’t go to Fairyhouse”
February 28, 2021 at 14:20 #1525846Got to be due a forfeit stage any day?
February 28, 2021 at 21:34 #1525950Peter, Forfeit stages before Five Day Decs are 2nd and 23rd March
March 1, 2021 at 20:24 #1526229Disappointed to see Bellshill missing from The Premier Chase at Kelso this weekend. Got to be a slight doubt over him now, but hope I’m wrong.
I’ve laid off Champagne Classic as well, even before the latest furore, the vibes weren’t good.
Considering adding A Toi Phil. He’s unlikely to get in, even with the prospect of a few Elliot absentees, and he’s also very fragile, but at 560’s, thought him worth a small bet. When seen, he seems as good as ever, and stayed on well in 2019, having never figured. He’d come here almost a a stone lower, and though it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to see him pick up a knock, but if he survives this weeks forfeit stages, I’ll bet him.
Others further down that I’m looking at, include Deise Aba, Achille, Fitzhenry, and Jerrysback.
March 1, 2021 at 20:27 #1526231Nothing on the Thomson Twitter VTC regarding a issue with Bellshill , he,s spending plenty time on the beach
March 1, 2021 at 20:32 #1526233Yeah, follow him on Facebook, and all looks good. I’d just like to see an entry. Fingers crossed.
March 1, 2021 at 20:34 #1526234He gave me a nice treble today at Ayr , he should have another at Catterick tomorrow
March 1, 2021 at 20:47 #1526236Times running out for him. I don’t want to abandon ship with him and I trust Sandy Thomson to do what needs to be done, however I can’t have a horse for the National off one run five months earlier in a five runner race no less. Training days on the beach won’t make up for lack of runs.
March 1, 2021 at 21:09 #1526242Peter if any man can Sandy can !
March 2, 2021 at 02:49 #1526462I’ve got Le Breuil at 40/1, although he’s available at 50s now. He is however
running out of chances to get himself into the National. I thought he might have
a chance in the Classic Chase at Warwick, and then the Edinburgh National at
Musselburgh, but he disappointed in both and he’s running out of chances to raise
his mark. I’m not hopeful.I am hopeful however about Acapella Bourgeois though after his run at Fairyhouse.
I stuck him on at 66/1 (in ante post thread) and I managed to get 20 quid on
the exchange (£17.90 at 95s and £2.10 at 100/1) a couple of days before the
Fairyhouse race. To be honest I’m surprised he is on offer at 33s whilst Burrows
Saint is half those odds after beating him giving 6lbs. I don’t think one had the
fitness advantage over the other, BS running 3 times in December and then right at
the end of January whilst AB ran twice in January after a year off. There’s a swing
of 7lbs in AB’s favour. I’m not rubishing the chance of BS, he’s definitely the type
for the National, it’s just the gap in their odds that I don’t get.I’ll probably stick another couple on on the day with the offers that will no
doubt be on. I see in my Skybet account that they are NRNB and stake returned
(max £10) on the 1st race at the Festival, not to be sniffed at. I’m sure they
will have plenty more offers at Aintree trying to lure punters in for the National.March 2, 2021 at 11:21 #1526517Tiger Roll now confirmed as a non runner .
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
March 2, 2021 at 16:14 #1526620They claim TIGER ROLL is out because of unfair weights. However with GORDON ELLIOT being unable to race in mainland Britain a ruling HRB has used and GIGGINSTOWN backing ELLIOT what does that mean for their National runners trained by him.

Battleoverdoyen
Aso
Al Roc
Champagne Classic
The Conditional
Robin Des Foret
Yorkhill
Moyhenna
Rocky’s Treasure
