1. The Irish handicap marks are clearly ridiculous.
2. The overnight watering was ludicrous.
3. The O/R percentage of 146% is absolutely disgusting.NH Racing is an utter
shambles at the moment.BUY THE SUN
April 10, 2021 at 17:34 #1535671A great moment for racing. I know Rachael’s gender should not matter but in this case it does. I can remember when women jockeys in the National were on 500/1 outsiders and rather patronised. The likes of Katie Walsh raised the bar but this takes it to a whole new level. Such a shame it took place in front of empty stands.
And Henry De Bromhead has trained the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase, Gold Cup and Grand National in the same season. Incredible!
April 10, 2021 at 17:34 #1535672I dont think its the irish marks
I think the UK marks are too high
Look at some of the yaks rated 150+ in the UK
April 10, 2021 at 17:35 #1535673Just drop all the UK horses 24 lbs for next season.
I’ll be positive and say that Blaklion was tremendous there.
For the ‘win and you’re in’ brigade, Secret Reprieve wouldn’t have got within 50 lengths of that.
April 10, 2021 at 17:38 #1535675How do these thieves get away with an O/R of 146%? Its an absolute liberty, and I saw it coming from a bloody mile away. They were never going to accept missing about on the housewives cash without some skullduggery. Its a disgrace, and absolutely NOTHING will be done, as usual.

April 10, 2021 at 17:39 #1535677Well done, Rachael, fantastic sports personality……
To the handicapper, please RAISE TIGER ROLL ANOTHER 5lbs!!!!
April 10, 2021 at 17:39 #1535679Well done winners. Some gamble over the last few days. HDB and Rachael a real force to be reckoned with.
Just the Irish 1,2,3,4,5
April 10, 2021 at 17:43 #1535684“The Irish handicap marks are clearly ridiculous.”
I think it is more a case of the British marks being ridiculous, TTC.
April 10, 2021 at 17:43 #1535686Agree completely with FF91 on the British horses being rated too highly. Seems you only have to win a novice hurdle/chase to be rated 135 or more; and then the mark just creeps upwards from there.
The whole handicap needs dropping at least ten pounds.
April 10, 2021 at 17:46 #1535687Irish trained 10 of the first 11.
Just look at some of the marks the UK horses were expected to run off and laugh…
Firstly the obvious one, i know he wasnt running off it, but Cloth Cap has just made a mockery of the handicapper thinking he is a 162 horse.Yala Enki – 159
Ballyoptic – 157
Defintely Red – 157
Mr Malarky – 155
Kimberlite Candy – 155
Ok Corral – 151
Taking Risks – 150IF all of those horses were dropped 10lbs they might be competitive. Mad ratings
April 10, 2021 at 17:48 #1535688Well done botchy and everyone else on. That was brilliant. Hadn’t a bean on but my 5 year old daughter and I were hopping and riding the finish from the Elbow and small daughter (too young to understand) got caught up in the excitement. Don’t think I’ll get the older one to sleep tonight.
April 10, 2021 at 17:55 #1535695Was cheering Rachel on even though hadn’t backed her, 2 of mine finished, Farclas and Sub Lieutenant (well done Tabitha!).
Sad to see The Long Mile pulled up with a broken hind leg.April 10, 2021 at 17:55 #1535696Just brilliant Silver Spoon with the 50-1, fair play to you.
April 10, 2021 at 18:00 #1535698Well done Silver Spoon! Fantastic price.
Unlucky for you Venture and all the other Any Second Now backers. Surely he must have won without basiscally having to stop after the fall of Double Shuffle.
Farclas placed, so a decent result for me.
April 10, 2021 at 18:02 #1535700The Gaelic Plant Hire Leopardstown Handicap Chase (Grade A) ran on the 7th of February 2021 featured
Minella Times 2nd OR 140
Livelovelaugh 3rd OR 135
Farclas 4th OR 145Those handicap marks look rather lenient now, considering the strength in depth of almost all Class 2 or above handicaps.
April 10, 2021 at 18:05 #1535706Great winner
well done Rachel
horse didn’t even break sweat or touch a twigGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 10, 2021 at 18:11 #1535719Well done Botchy, think you were the first to put Minella Times up; and all the others who picked the winner…
…But above all well done Rachael.
Never been more pleased to be wrong about a race.
Brilliant for our sport.Value Is Everything - AuthorPosts
