WD Bryony and her great wee pony!
Super race!!March 14, 2019 at 14:59 #1402001What a wonderful performance. Only had a saver, but that’s the race of the Festival so far for me. An awsome partnership!
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2019 at 15:03 #1402002Well done to all, especially Venture + Raymo with the big prices, awesome lads
March 14, 2019 at 15:03 #1402003Absolutely superb and 5hat cotswold chase form just got stronger
March 14, 2019 at 15:15 #1402008What a strange decision to ride un de Sceaux in the way they did. He has an outstanding record because he made the running or was right up there. In fact I doubt Un de Sceaux has ever actually passed a horse at the end of a race. He wins by staying in front of horses, not by trying to pass them.
March 14, 2019 at 15:18 #1402010I was thinking too wex
March 14, 2019 at 15:32 #1402015Highlight of the week and was completely overpriced at 8s
Shes a total star and the partnership sums up what this great sport is all about. Ive been following this partnership for a while and its very hard to oppose combinations that work so well at this course
No one should underestimate Nichols feats and support here too
Wonderful
March 14, 2019 at 16:00 #1402032Just the most fantastic partnership. There’s is no better horse in racing than one who gallops, jumps and refuses to be passed. I thought it would be hard to beat Coneygree’s Gold Cup performance but that was almost as good.
And if someone released a CD of Bryony’s post race interviews I would certainly buy it. What a wonderful interview today.

Take a look at the Ryanairs he’s raced in, TWM.
Took a strong hold and didn’t get home on similar stamina sapping ground to today’s in 2018 – beaten.
Made all won on speed favouring Good ground in 2017, again taking a strong hold and still had a 6 lengths lead over the last reduced to 1 1/2 by the line (didn’t have much left).Today was again stamina sapping soft ground and you’ve got to take note of there being lots of potential pace setters. Had there not been many front/prominent racers am sure he’d have made the running/raced prominently. Fact UDS takes a strong hold in his races at Cheltenham is also important. With so many rivals being front runners it’s almost certain he’d have been taken on for the lead, where as Frodon settles if taken on, UDS does not… And also Frodon is suited by a strongly run test of stamina at this trip – UDS is not. So imo connections made the percentage call/understandable decision not to race prominently/pull their chance away.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2019 at 23:06 #1402125As a frodon backer I had a huge smile on my face when I saw un de sceaux back in the field
Went from hoping hed win to expecting he would
March 14, 2019 at 23:19 #1402129Well done all winners. The importance of rhythm in steeplechases reinforced (and backed up by Lizzie later)
