Very disappointed that Now McGinty wasn’t declared here as he was my clear first choice. Will do Atlanta Ablaze instead, using the B3tw@y offer.
March 10, 2019 at 23:16 #1400599Welcome to TRF Coneycard
March 11, 2019 at 11:53 #1400655Whisperinthebreeze great ew value at 20/1
March 11, 2019 at 13:51 #1400680Totally agree with you on Whisperinthebreeze 20/1, Racingorchid.
…And also taken a similar price Atlanta Ablaze, Coneycard… and welcome to TRF!
I take it your two favourite horses are Coneygree and Cue Card?Couldn’t put anyone off the two favourites though; imo odds-on one of Ballyward and OK Corral will win and you can get odds against. Both already good enough to win an average renewal.
I’ve backed Breeze and Ablaze along with Corral and a saver on Bally.
Value Is EverythingMarch 11, 2019 at 13:55 #1400682Discorama looked far from beaten when falling last time against ballyward, was one of the first off the bridle but was plugging on like a proper stayer so hes my bullet for this
For me ok corral is almost too classy to stay 4 miles, that would be my only question mark about him, he should be running in the RSA
March 11, 2019 at 14:31 #1400685I’d agree with that too FF, but Discorama had a bad fall that day when tired under Brian Cooper. That may well affect confidence and yet to look a natural in that sphere. Far from an ideal prep with an amateur taking over, lot depends on Mr Barry O’Neil.
OK Corral may not be a definite stayer, but has the best amateur jockey on board for relaxing them and if staying will be very difficult to beat. Sire Mahler was responsible for last year’s second Ms Parfoirs and dam related to Tidal Bay. Tidal Bay may have won the Arkle but also won a Whitbread – staying further as he got older… OK Corral is a nine year old older novice. Splitting Kilbricken Storm and Santini, with Ballyward 4th in last year’s heavy ground Albert Bartlett. Making ground on the winner near the line in a truly run 3m on a stiff course on stamina sapping heavy ground, suggests to me he will stay quite a bit further than 3m. Fairly good chance that’ll be 4m. Albert Bartlett also suggesting Cheltenham at this time of year suits him well.
Value Is EverythingMarch 11, 2019 at 14:48 #1400686Very true, going into cheltenham off a fall is rarely a good thing
But is only a small bet for a bit of interest, so double the price of ballyward will do me
Good luck with ok corral
March 11, 2019 at 16:17 #1400700Thanks very much, Joseph.
Pulls Mortal out of the ideal race and sticks it into one of the hottest RSAs this century
That horse will win a National of some description
March 11, 2019 at 21:01 #1400751Thanks for the welcomes. And correct regards Coneygree and Cue Card. Cue Card was my first Cheltenham winner (Ryanair, not bumper….) I cheered home in person. Coneygree my first Gold Cup winner which came from study rather than a quick glance, and my first real racing goosebumps.
In general I’m a sucker for a horse who tries to do it from the front.
March 11, 2019 at 21:10 #1400759I found it very hard to split Ballyward and OK Corral so in the end I’ve gone for a safe option. I backed Impulsive Star at 14/1 EW. He was 4th in this race last year behind Rathvinden, Miss Parfois and Sizing Tenessee, strong form. I think Impulsive Star is better than last year, he won the Classic Chase at Warwick in good style and only two lenghts behind OK Corral in his penultimate race.
March 11, 2019 at 23:24 #1400787I like this race but can’t really find a nice bet. Still, got to give the Gordon+Giggi horse a chance even if he wasn’t their preferred choice for this all season (and the trainer’s at all).
Jockey might not be in the top 3 crack amateurs but knows the horse and her way round the course and has shown several times that she can ride a staying chaser on a big occasion.

Granted he didn’t do well over a trip at tbe end of last season but he did have 9 races in bogs in 6 months without a break by then.Gun Digger 20-1 EW
March 11, 2019 at 23:32 #1400791I added them myself tonight Grass, along with Whisperinthebreeze, same price, 20’s.
Win only though.
March 11, 2019 at 23:46 #1400796I was thinking of adding WhisperITB myself. Will see how the rest of the day goes and might stick him in at the last minute.
(I typed “Whisper” for short to start and immediately thought about that wee Henderson horse I so liked last year. Wonder if he’s retired now.)March 12, 2019 at 09:11 #1400828Gun Digger is too big at that price but then again so is Chef des Obeaux who stays longer than the proverbial MIL !!
I have backed OK CORRAL at 4/1 and 7/2 and CHEF DES OBEAUX at 25/1 and 20/1 both five places !!
Be Lucky Folks
March 12, 2019 at 09:34 #1400834Whisperinthebreeze + Chef Des Obeaux For me in this.
March 12, 2019 at 17:41 #1401486A brutal race with a fantastic finish.
March 12, 2019 at 17:42 #1401487Was on Ms Parfois last year and discorama this year
Not a lucky race for me
Thought discorama had that in the bag
