It’s going to be scenes when Samcro wins here lads.
2/1 huge
December 1, 2018 at 14:12 #1387711That can finally end the samcro hype
BVD yeah, not his biggest fan, but that was class
December 1, 2018 at 14:13 #1387712Samcro goes chasing now. He just got put in his place good and proper.
December 1, 2018 at 14:14 #1387713I did say Samcro wasn’t a 2 miler. there you are.
December 1, 2018 at 14:16 #1387714“As I said on another thread (champion hurdle I think), where Ginge and tens of thousands of others had just taken, what I thought was a silly short price for Samcro in the champion hurdle. This was obviously before Samcro even ran this season and got beat. But after what the owners said about hurdling. I said that he’s very likely too still go chasing, whatever they said in early October, and Nathan had done the right thing backing him ‘any race’.
No chance against the Champion Hurdle winner here. No bet race for me, if I was a layer, I’d be taking every penny I could for Samcro at current prices. He’s a superstar alright, just not a 2m hurdling one.
I’m off too look for a price for him for the JLT & RSA right now…
I’ve just taken 20’s Samcro for the RSA, and 14’s Samcro for the JLT. Money where mouth is before tomorrow. Second or worse he’s chasing, over further than 2m.”
December 1, 2018 at 14:17 #1387715Knew the result from the start, Samcro simply didn’t do enough early on to make it a true test and then it turned into a sprint from two out and tha champ did him for speed. Looks like Summerville Boy has learnt nothing in the jumping department – made exactly the same mistakes as he did last year.
Can only see injury preventing BVD from doing the hat trick at Cheltenham…..class and a throw back to the slick Champion Hurdlers of the 70s (Sea Pigeon & Night Nurse etc)
December 1, 2018 at 14:20 #1387717Plan B for Samcro now surely!
December 1, 2018 at 14:21 #1387718Didn’t have a bet after Bedrock came out, but I’m not sure what young Kennedy was thinking (or perhaps what his instructions were) riding a proven stayer so comparatively slowly from the front.
If he stays fencing now, that’s simple pig-headedness on behalf of Gigginstown, unless they’re aiming at the Stayers.
December 1, 2018 at 14:25 #1387719Is it any wonder bookies make millions? Johnny ward (racing journalist) posted on his twitter earlier in the week that samcro should be favourite. And i replied that 9/4 represented no value at all. People backed samcro into Favourite to beat a dual champion hurdler unbeaten for over two years? Samcro was comfortably beaten by Bedrock at down royal and displayed then that he hadn’t got the speed for 2 miles.
Amazing that samcro was favourite
December 1, 2018 at 14:25 #1387721I suppose they could always run up a sequence in the Aintree Hurdle over 2m4f if they want to stick to hurdles
BUt then again BVD did win that in 2017, so there goes that plan…….3m chasing it is themDecember 1, 2018 at 14:27 #1387722He’s going chasing, we all know it. Watch his price collapse for the JLT & RSA. It probably already is as I type this.
December 1, 2018 at 14:42 #1387729Samcro NOT going chasing this season
December 1, 2018 at 14:43 #1387730Condolences also to McManus who lost Bleu Et Rouge in the race.
Elliott has also just confirmed that it is still the plan for Samcro to head for the Champion Hurdle
December 1, 2018 at 15:13 #1387749Did you see him stuttering as he said it? Watch it again on replay, whatever he said about the CH, he was looking very unsure about it all, as he said it, and actually stopped. Who can blame him, his horse just got beat and a camera is shoved in his face. That decision, will not be made there and then. It will be made by the big boss who pays the bills.
December 1, 2018 at 15:20 #1387751After the race, Hendo beaming, states, “Oh he will come on absolute an tonne, we left loads to work on”.
He could have been screaming… “Best you jog on chasing now Gigginstown”.
Once the dust settles, I’d say he goes chasing, like I have all along. He’s not fast enough over a hurdle for 2m. They are not going to ruin their superstar. He’ll go chasing, sooner rather than later now.
December 1, 2018 at 15:37 #1387758His future is chasing no doubt but I wouldn’t be surprised if the boss for this year is stubborn/pigheaded enough to stick to hurdles, afterall its not like he has a shortage of staying chasers to rely on.
December 1, 2018 at 15:56 #1387764Elliott said champion hurdle AT THIS STAGE. Those last 3 words are key.
Gigginstown will switch him I reckon. - AuthorPosts
