Sister Sibyl didn’t make the cut. All stakes transferred to West Approach. Johnson rides again and I think he’ll go off at single figures.

Kalondra in this for me at 7-1. I think him coming down two out at Galway in Aug helped protect his mark for this. He only went up 1lb. I think he’d have got very close to Sub Lieutenant or maybe beaten him there. He’d have likely shot up 10lb. This horse definitely has a big one in him. I love the trainer. (I backed My Brother in the second race today at 12’s, so I feel Noel owes me one too lol).

The trouble with Kalondra Naus is I think he is a bit of a bridle horse and goes from cantering to finding nowt in a few strides. I do think he has a big un in him but the cards will have to fall right for it to happen.

I have had a few quid each way on Shantou Village and Frodon at decent prices!!

    Good Luck Guys :good: :good:

Good renewal. A lot of horses you can fancy. I’ve gone for Kalondra at 7/1 and Ballyandy at 20/1. The last one is a bit of gamble, if only he can put up a decent round of jumping.

Kalondra @ 7/1 for me but I cannot have Frodon unbacked @ 16/1.

I’m with Joe on West Approach at 16s. I think he really benefited from a positive R Johnston ride last time and may be one of those horses who is best having his mind made up for him. Still on a nice mark.

Might add one or two tomorrow.

Plenty to like here but I’ve landed on Romain De Seman and Baron Alco. Best of luck all.

Rather Be (11/2) looks laid out for this and should still be on a workable handicap mark. Kings Socks (9/1) is fairly unexposed and has had this on the agenda over the summer. Ballyandy (20/1) appeals as an e/w poke. He’s schooled plenty and is very leniently handicapped.

I did bet Ballyandy during the week at 25-1, but I’m not quite as keen now.

This is one of my favourite races so I will add two more. I have had a really big bet for me on West Approach at 14-1 win only + an ew taking the 6 places on Willie Boy at 50-1

I’m another in the West Approach camp, but I only got 12-1. I also had an ew on Shantou Village at 28-1, and that is to 7 places as well, though you can get bigger than 28-1.

Have had savers on the obvious two, Rather Be and Kolondra; but my main bets are:

I don’t see why Whoshotwho is the outsider of the lot. Only a novice, dead-heated in a novice handicap last time out – progressive – on a sound surface (this imo is going to be good, if anything the firm side of good). Stable in cracking form and Sean Bowen on board. Out of the handicap but only by 1 lb. 84/1

Javert may be the oldest in the field, but is lightly raced. Behind Frodon last time, but being less exposed should be shorter odds than the top weight. Emma Lavelle is in good form. May be will need them to go a good pace on this ground to bring his stamina in to play, but 49/1 looks overpriced.

16/1 was too big for West Approach. Tizzard yard firing them in and although WA is a half-brother to Thistlecrack ran as if a drop to this trip would suit last time. There doesn’t look to be as many prominent runners in this as usual and conditions may favour those ridden prominently. West Approach himself looked full of potential but didn’t really go on; this may be his time of year.

Expected to be against ante-post favourite Mister Whitaker. Good ground may place too much emphasis on speed; but that has now been more than allowed for in his price. It’s not that he doesn’t act on Good and it’s possible the “speed” thing may be just his just doing enough temperament.

I almost sat this out, having sided with most of them at some stage, but took the plunge on Frodon at 22’s last night, and I’ve taken the 16’s to seven places as well.

Mrsraymo has backed Whoshotwho Ginge and she is renowned for backing big price winners LOL

Couldn’t resist adding a little bit on Willie Boy at 50/1. Tried to give 2 stone to AC/DC last time.
