@Joliff
Did you see that Go Conquer has switched to NTD?October 29, 2018 at 21:02 #1379039Yes it’s quite a big call from the Rooney’s to move him from Jonjo, they have the decent novice hurdler Good Boy Bobby with him so seemingly like what they’ve seen. Hopefully he can unlock some ability with Go Conquer as a mark of 147 shouldn’t be beyond him…I do think he will turn up for the Sodexo on Sat again rather than go for this unfortunately!
October 31, 2018 at 00:06 #1379101Yeah, agree with that Joliff, be very surprised if doesn’t have Ascot as the immediate priority.
October 31, 2018 at 21:11 #1379170Joliff, no entry here for Go Conquer, but interesting that he gets an entry for The Ladbroke at Newbury.
October 31, 2018 at 22:03 #1379174Can’t get used to not calling it the Hennessy! Not sure he’s up to winning a race of that standard personally but hopefully he wins on Saturday and gets his season off to a good start-he is a good horse and hopefully NTD can get the best out of him.
Interesting Kings Socks is entered up over the weekend, but of a dark horse for this…
November 2, 2018 at 09:09 #1379268Full entries…..

No bet for me just now, but looking at these….
Ballyandy
Ballyboley
Baron Alco
Cepage
Garde La VictoireNovember 2, 2018 at 15:34 #1379324Ballyandy has the class but definitely needs to jump better. Cepage would be interesting if ground is soft…
November 5, 2018 at 02:19 #1379751I’ve backed 3 for this all EW. Have also stuck them in few EW Multi’s
BARON ALCO 12/1
RATHER BE 16/1
KING SOCKS 20/1They all act ok on soft ground and will be prominent runners
Good Luck all
November 5, 2018 at 11:10 #1379767Nice form boost to Rather Be.
Mister Whitaker goes up what, 6lb for that yesterday? Surely they go into graded class after that?
November 5, 2018 at 18:46 #1379791Unlikely she’ll get in off 127, but I’ve taken 75 about Sister Sybil
November 12, 2018 at 16:06 #1380379Added West Approach at 22
November 12, 2018 at 17:06 #1380383Joe, you’re facing a sweat for Sister Sybil, but not out of the question, is it?
Still no bet for me in this, and I might as well wait until Final Decs now. Very pleased I held off, as three of my shortlist not declared. Particularly pleased with Garde La Victoire, as I was very close to betting him last night.
Splash of Ginge is higher in the weights this year, but he ran well over hurdles the other day, so he looks big at 33’s, as does Guitar Pete, but for once, I’ll happily go into this without an Ante-Post
Sponsors going 5 Places now.
November 12, 2018 at 18:13 #1380389Aye, Bobby. Her long handicap mark won’t help even if she does get in but I suspect she’s a good deal better than her price and mark suggests. Pace should suit her though she wouldn’t want to lie too far back going down the hill.
I thought WA ran a fine race last time with the interesting change of tactics, though Johnson might have made a difference too. His price is too big given the stable form and the fact that Thistlecrack, his half brother, was a late maturing type. Slight concerns about his jumping, though.
November 12, 2018 at 21:57 #1380412I’m glad I’m on Rather Be at 16s looking at the odds now.
November 12, 2018 at 22:59 #1380418Aso could slip under the radar here. Goes well at the track and I’m convinced he’s a classy animal on his day. Might want further and has a big break to overcome, but I’d be very interested if he goes here.
Splash of Ginge was my biggest win of last season and I’ll be playing him again. Hasn’t been given an inch by the handicapper and will prefer it softer, but his course record is great and he’ll always have a special place in me.
Guitar Pete on the other hand seems to be overlooked by the handicapper, perhaps perceiving his efforts to be more circumstantial than merit based and while he was a “fortunate” winner at the track last season; his efforts don’t seem to go as recognised as others. I think he’s thrown in.
November 14, 2018 at 09:18 #1380466Splash Of Ginge holds a special place in my heart too Peter. Had he got up and beaten The Storyteller I wouldn’t have won 10 grand
November 14, 2018 at 12:14 #1380477Romain De Seman, surely looking to have another crack at this… 7lb lower and better off with a few from the race last year.
Nicholls has a knack of mopping up the valuable Saturday races and has his horses tuned for a specific race. After wind surgery, has had a couple of runs, which I think should put him spot on for this.
25/1 with Ladbrokes looks a good bet to me. - AuthorPosts
