WEll done to any barron backers, but absolutely pig sick with Rather Be.
Not his fault, I just hope he is okay
November 17, 2018 at 14:38 #1380789Very bad luck BigG. That was very unlucky. I had a late saver on Rather Be when he opened up on course 7-1.When Kalondra went I had my eyes on Rather Be. He looked like he was going very well at the time.
Well done VTC, Frodon ran a stormer there.
November 17, 2018 at 14:44 #1380790Well done AtP and Pants, and everyone who got EW money. Didn’t see the race as working but how about Frodon carrying that weight into 2nd?? Super wee horse.
November 17, 2018 at 14:46 #1380791Cheers Nausered, he had what I thought was a prime spot on the rail just behind the
leaders and he was travelling so well. Nothing you can do when that happens, no blame
on the jockey at all. I hope he is okay after that, I was looking forward to him doing
big things this year.November 17, 2018 at 14:51 #1380792Well done ATP and Pants.
Cheers Nausered, had good go on Frodon, and I fair cheered him home. It makes up a little for not being with Baron Alco. Continually on my shortlist, and I didn’t back him. Not sure what I was thinking.
November 17, 2018 at 14:54 #1380794I see ATP and Pants backed the Barron, very well done chaps, and Bobby that was a cracking
e/w for you at 22s
November 17, 2018 at 14:55 #1380795Wd winners.
November 17, 2018 at 15:06 #1380797Baron Alco jockey used extra whipping.
Cheat.November 17, 2018 at 15:17 #1380799Used the whip too many times and without giving it time to respond… and using the whip when it was not necessary; had the race won. Jamie Moore is not a cheat, Mike; he’s just an idiot.
Value Is EverythingNovember 17, 2018 at 15:20 #1380801Well done ATP and Pants.
Is paying to race prominently on fast ground at Cheltenham today.Value Is EverythingNovember 17, 2018 at 15:24 #1380803Reverse the placings. Bet he wudnt do it again. Lol
November 17, 2018 at 15:31 #1380805Only 6 of the 18 finished that race! Don’t think it’s going to go down as a strong renewal in terms of horses to come out of it! Carnage
November 17, 2018 at 16:01 #1380812Am happy with Frodon placing but am extremely unhappy with the butchering the winner got!!
Say I am exaggerating if you want but I thought we had seen the end of whip use like that!!November 17, 2018 at 16:20 #1380815Reverse the placings. Bet he wudnt do it again. Lol
Possibly, but you’ll also get a riot on the racecourse; punters angry about losing money despite their horse winning the race easily.
Richard Hoiles made a fair point, they should ban the jockey for major racing days. Trouble with that is it does not treat everyone equally; it’ll matter less for a lesser jockey with fewer rides in big races.
Where I do agree with you is: If a horse wins in a tight finish – just as all other rules – placings should be reversed if it’s thought rule breaking made the difference between winning and losing… With benefit of the doubt in difficult decissions going in favour of the one/ones keeping within the rules. If that were brought in there’d be no point in breaking whip rules.
Value Is EverythingNovember 17, 2018 at 16:25 #1380816I don’t think you’re exaggerating, Raymo; I didn’t like it at all either. Although it did look to me that some strokes was Moore trying to keep in rhythem – not making contact.
Value Is EverythingNovember 17, 2018 at 18:26 #1380831Well done Pants and ATP.
I thought Dr Newland’s idea a good one: for every stroke over the maximum, the horse/jockey is docked one length and the finishing positions then decided.

There wouldn’t if the rule was bought in, then everyone would know about it so no riots. And its rare for horses that win easily to have jocks overusing the whip.
No easy answer they keep saying so nothing will change any time soon unfortunately.
