50-1 is a tempting price Racing Orchid, I hope he makes it to the race for you.
I like what I have seen from Sub Liuetenat and would be watching with interest when he runs tomorrow, as hit a race as The John Durkan looks. Having said that, realistically speaking I would still fe in The Tizzard camp here.
December 11, 2016 at 18:01 #1276790Looks like Douvan is not going for the KG according to his trainer “The King George would not be in my plan at the moment. I’m happy enough to stick to that (two miles) this year.”
If correct a big danger to the Tizzard horses could be out the way.
December 11, 2016 at 23:02 #1276813I have backed CC for this at 5/2 and Thistlecrack at 8s. Really not sure what Coneygrees intentions are and it appears the bradstocks don’t know either

December 12, 2016 at 13:34 #1276850Nathan, is there a GIF showing Mullins being battered by a banjo player for changing his mind? :)

I wonder if he’ll change his mind. Does Mullins do that?
You better pray that Djakadam gets to Cheltenham unscathed or there could be a change of target!
December 12, 2016 at 16:17 #1276883I couldn’t find one, Steeplechasing.
Will a baseball bat do….?

December 13, 2016 at 15:49 #1277038Shots fired with Sara Bradstock not seeing Thistlecrack as a threat, saying she doesn’t think his jumping will stand the pace in a proper grade 1….
I think I agree with her and I also agreed with what Ginger was trying to say a page or two back about it being a totally different proposition should Coneygree take part…
Weather permitting it looks like this is his favoured race and they’re making no secret that they want to go quicker from flag fall to make it a real test of stamina…
It will be interesting now that shot has been fired what Colin Tizzard will do with Thistlecrack? If Coneygree turns up 100% in his favoured conditions I think he’ll take a hell of a lot of pegging back and think this early Tizzard would be wise not to expose his stable Star to that test and go the novice route instead..
December 14, 2016 at 16:03 #1277163Coneygree might come on for the run, but connections blaming the jockey for not going fast enough in the Betfair is unfair. Coneygree weakened in the final stages, either because he needed it or simply could not keep up the pace. Considering the exceptional time probably the latter. Either way, finished tired and therefore had he gone a faster pace would’ve finished further back.
Here’s Simon Rowlands sectional debrief.
Value Is EverythingDecember 14, 2016 at 16:09 #1277165One negative for both Coneygree and Cue Card is the Betfair was run on very heavy ground, will they recover in time?

I must admit I am starting to warm towards Coneygree Zamorston mate, with the dreaded “bounce” factor being the main concern for me.
When you consider that Thistlecrack would have to win a race as big as the king george in only his fourth race over fences having just raced against novices so far, you can see the scale of his task. Cue Card is just too short for me to be a backable proposition and in any case the performance that Coneygree put up in the Feltham would be good enough to win this imo.
December 18, 2016 at 12:33 #1277746Coneygree out to 15’s on the machine……
December 18, 2016 at 12:35 #1277747Coneygree not running till new year
December 18, 2016 at 13:00 #1277751Well, totally in control of Tizzard now.
December 18, 2016 at 14:39 #1277781Clearly a good time to start warming to Coneygree!
I’ll get my coat.

That’s a “no” for the former.
