I have backed two 33/1 shots !!
PORTRAIT KING
HIGHLAND LODGEAny thoughts ??
December 3, 2015 at 19:38 #1224541Portrait King ran an absolute shocker at Bangor last time, never went a yard.
December 4, 2015 at 20:57 #1224658Nigel Twiston Davies is no stranger to success in this race, and he could be represented by Algernon Pazham, Tour Des Champs, and Foxbridge. Algernon comes here fresh off the back of a solid run at Bangor last time, in a very competitive handicap, and he looks sure to come on for that. He was going the right way last year, and NTD looks to have him in good nick.
NTD is confident of a good showing and rates him as one who will love a stamina test. I like the look of that runner up finish at Bangor, he looked like he wanted more toward/after the line.
It might be too early in his career to win this race but the rest of the card isn’t inspiring me much so I’ll take an 8/1 each way play.
Good luck Paz!Great preview btw VTC.
December 4, 2015 at 21:52 #1224662I’ve settled on Unioniste
December 5, 2015 at 00:45 #1224687Thanks Chivers

After the form you’ve been in, I’d have preferred to see you going for Soll

Yeah, I always try to have a bet in that Bangor Race, and thought Paz’s run was really encouraging. Best of luck with him.
December 5, 2015 at 02:01 #1224691I usually like to find something at a bit of a price, but I can’t seem to get away
from GOONYELLA and SAINT ARE, and both are at the head of the market, 8/1 and 9/1
respectively. I think that it will very likely be the case that in the conditions,
the finishers will be in single figures and to get round you will almost certainly
need to stay the best part of 4 miles. It’s not that there aren’t a few that fit that
bill, it’s just that without it turning up like a bog, there are others that I would
put in front of GOONYELLA in particular. In normal conditions I would see him as a
running of 4th or 5th, but with conditions right up his street, I fancy he can win
this. There are only four points separating about the first 10 in the market, so things could
easily turn about at the head of the market before the off. In any case my main bet is
GOONYELLA with a little saver on SAINT ARE.I should have commented on this before Bobby, but thanks for a great run down on the
race.Good luck all

PORTRAIT KING
HIGHLAND LODGEAny thoughts ??
I think its 1:52 in the PM and your day has been made. Well done.
Paz travelled well enough and didn’t jump terribly but Ryan Hatch looked like coming off with almost every landing.
December 5, 2015 at 14:08 #1224781Im convinced Portrait King would have gone close, but for bumping into one of them two out. Definitely goes on the National shortlist.
Congratulations to all who backed the winner!December 5, 2015 at 14:17 #1224784Well done raymo!!!! Excellent call, hope you reversed them in the forecast as well.
December 5, 2015 at 14:18 #1224785Well done Raymo, I couldn’t have Highland Lodge even though very well handicapped on best form. Looked a right dodgepot over conventional fences. Apart from when racing fresh done very little. Possibly revitalised by a change of stables, but – over all – think it might be these Aintree fences that are key. Even then – needs a prominent position.
Value Is EverythingDecember 5, 2015 at 15:41 #1224799Stunning tipping, Raymo – well done. Portrait King certainly looked as though he’d be involved
December 5, 2015 at 16:10 #1224805Well done Raymo, top man…..with his pockets full too
December 5, 2015 at 21:29 #1224840Congratulations Raymo.
