My pick to win the race…

CHOCOLATE CANDY
…here’s hoping!
April 30, 2009 at 01:21 #224445Badactor, I think Chocolate Candy has a great chance too – and he is such a beautiful horse! think Friesan Fire may have too much
fire
power for him on Saturday – but they are my two picks. Think Pioneerof The Nile will finish ahead of I Want Revenge by the way just as he has in the past. Dunkirk is a lovely horse but just doesn’t have the experience that seems necessary for this race.
April 30, 2009 at 16:43 #224560For DUNKIRK fans.
He certainly is a good looking colt!

Garrett Gomez & Dunkirk before the Florida Derby.(…interesting to note that top jockey, Garrett Gomez,
selected Pioneerof The Nile as his Kentucky Derby mount.)April 30, 2009 at 17:37 #224572

Wonder if Mrs John Magnier bought him because of that little pink nose.
Not sure if the rest of him is any good but it doens’t matter as I am having a tenner on the nose and hoping the rest of him follows
May 1, 2009 at 00:36 #224684Rain expected over the next couple of days at Churchill Downs.
Fresian Fire’s chances do jump out at me if the track turns to slop.
Still confident POTN can do it though
May 1, 2009 at 01:05 #224695I ant revenge coudlnt get a toe into a damp alweather track, papa clem wanr much cop on a sloppy track in lousina. Pioneer of the Nil will have tracked on an off track while will Bill Mott at some stage of last year.
Alweather horses either revel on a wet dirt track or simply drop anchor and get a cab home…
Freisan Fire loved the offtrack but how good the form is from down their is open too question, its like chester form, it doesnt travel.
Desert Party won a grade two last over a wet track at saratoga, he is one too consider at a price.
I am big fan of Pioneer Of the Nile and Mr Hot Stuff, the latter is a son of Tiznow, so he should not be short of heart if it comes down too a fight, head too head with Dunkirk he will out fight the coolmore coward who showe a lacked desire too get down and dirty in th florisa derby. AP Mocoy should be given the mount, he would ride the colt propertly and make his mind up for him in a scrap.
May 1, 2009 at 03:22 #224734Anyone know where I can watch this by the way?
I thought ATR had rights this year!
May 1, 2009 at 14:51 #224783I think both ATR and RUK are showing it Halfwaytoheaven. Good racing on the undercard too – Kodiak Cowboy etc running
May 1, 2009 at 15:02 #224788I know the dosage Index has a pretty good record in this race & I am wondering what the contenders are this year.
I came across an article that went into the DI & Beyer ratings.
The top horses are
I want revenge
Dunkirk
Friesian Fire.I want revenge has clocked 113, had a terrible run last time out & still won.
It is one of only these three horses to score over the magical "105" mark along with the other two mentioned. He should stay as well
May 2, 2009 at 14:09 #225030Fresian Fire the ML favourite at 9/2
I Want Revenge a massive drifter to 6/1
May 2, 2009 at 15:02 #225047The Dosage Index was brought to life, and lives off the Kentucky Derby – and if there was no such thing as the race we would all be much happier punters.
May 2, 2009 at 19:22 #225112I Want Revenge is out…withdrawn this afternoon
May 2, 2009 at 19:23 #225115Ankle injury…near fore
May 2, 2009 at 19:31 #225119From an antepost point of view this gives both Fresian Fire and POTN one less to worry about.
Really hope IWR is ok though and picks up to go for the next leg of the Triple Crown. Thats 2 antepost favourites out now
May 3, 2009 at 00:12 #225200I have a little on Friesan Fire, but I’m also playing a hunch I have about Regal Ransom.
May 3, 2009 at 00:13 #2252012 hours til post time Gents

Can’t wait.
Hope some of you have a nice wedge of money running on to your choice after Rachel Alexandra last night
She should never have gone off anywhere near 3/5
May 3, 2009 at 01:19 #225216I’ll go with a few here:
Pioneer Of The Nile 2pts win @ 7-1
Hold Me Back 1pt e/w @ 20-1
Mr Hot Stuff 1pt e/w @ 33-1
I always have to have a little play in this race, although Barbaro is my only ever winner in it, and Hard Spun e/w 2nd.
