    Aintree 530

    2pt win Eleazar @ 16-1 (Sportingbet)

    1pt Altilhar @ 14-1 (Sportingbet)

Eleazar has drifted slightly, so having another go.

    Aintree 250

    Celestial Halo 10pts @ 4-1

    Jered 10 pts @ 9-1

    Cant see anything else winning.

    Aintree 500

    I Have Dreamed 1pt e/w 1pt win @ 25-1

If Alsadaa takes them along a good clip, I can see him being competetive at the finish, and he looks the best price in the field.

    Cheltenham 320

    Eleazar 5pt swin @ 16-1

    Amore Mio 2pts win @ 14-1 (both prices bet365)

Fancy both of these to go well on the ground, at this trip and at the weights. The ground turned out to be pretty soft at aintree the day Eleazar was beaten last time and I expect him to go well tomorrow. Amore Mio should like the step up, should handle ground and is low in the weights.

Sorry Gerald, just noticed this, have been gradually getting less and less time for form study and so drfiting away from regular betting lately as just started new job and am moving up and down the country in hotels waiting for the Saudi embassy to approve my Visa to go out and work out there.

Obviously betting is illegal out there but will see how I am for time and see if I can get some picks up on here, as picking winners is half the fun, and will probably keep trying without necessarily betting. Previous experience of trying to bet on races you cant watch though means it is much harder though.

Before I go I’ll just mention a few bets that I think are very good at the minute:

    Epsom Derby

    1pt e/w Age Of Aquarius @ 25-1

    1pt e/w Montaff @ 66-1 (Sporting Bet)

There are a few breeding combinations I have always wanted to see. Sadlers Wells/Top Ville goes well together with the likes of Montjeu/Yeats and to a lesser extent Binocular all hailing from that cross, so I have always wanted to see a Galileo/Top Ville cross. Age Of Aquarius is that horse and thought he looked an absolute picture at lingfield, he wouldnt have liked the gd-fm that day but still performed really well, and come epsom he should be coming up the straight extremely powerfully, regardless of his price. (only slight concern is how he will be ridden in the derby).

Another cross I have always wanted to see is Montjeu/Gulch, Sadlers Wells Gulch obviously threw up refuse to bend and so Ilike to see how Montaff could do as IMO he is really nicely bred. Montaff IMO wouldnt have liked the gd-fm at lingfield either and IMO definitely wouldnt have liked the slow pace on gd-fm yet he was challenging Age Of Aquarius really powerfully up the run in and was only just denied, come epsom he should be much better, should love the faster pace and has a cracking chance, especially as he is without doubt the channon first string, if he was one of AOBs he wouldnt be the sort of price he is and Channon has proven with Youmzain that he can get one up to group 1 standard at group 1 level.

In an open race both these horses are over priced.

    Kings Stand at Royal Ascot

    E/W Spin Cycle @ 66-1

(not going to mention points as am just going to go ridiculous on this one, in the hope he is as good as I think)

This is an up and coming group class sprinter who loves gd-fm and IMO is the perfect sort for the Kings Stand. If ascot comes up gd-fm (as it almost always does) then he will have so much in his favour that if he fails to make the first 3 I will be extremely disappointed. The way he’s bred the way he accelerates on gd-fm, the way he moves etc, everything about him just screams this horse is going to be a big hit in faster ground 5f races. The horse I am most excited about at the minute as think he’s physically improved from 2-3 and he’s grossly overlooked IMO.

Good Luck and hope to be back on here soon, once I get settkled properly.

Sorry Bulwark, I wasn’t giving you a kick up the arse or anything – just doing a bit of mass bumping so that a couple of other posters could see what a thread is supposed to look like.

My Derby book has Fame And Glory, Gan Amrhas and Montaff in it, so you can see I have already been influenced by you.

I was already thinking of having a fiver on Age Of Aquarius as well.

I’ve decided that I’m only doing one horse in each of the King’s Stand (Fleeting Spirit) and Golden Jubilee (Sir Gerry). The latter will be the biggest bet of my life (£200).

If he wins, I suppose I’ll have to go back to university to complete my degree, even though I’m not particularly interested anymore.

    Gerald

edit. There is a 2yo colt called Alfonso The Wise (Galileo/Top Ville), but I don’t have any other info.

Mark Prescot has a Cheveley Park 3yo filly Inflammable (Montjeu/Gulch), but his stables are remaining closed down for a couple more weeks.

further edit. Don’t expect too much from Alfonso The Wise soon. Probably bred by Barronstown Stud. He is a half-brother to Heron Island, who came 4th in the Gold Cup. Dam is a maiden, and a half-sister to Darshaan.

Cheers gerald, I’d be fairly confident that with those 4 in the derby you’ll have the winner. Find it hard to see past those 4 myself…

Good Luck with Sir Gerry, a likeable sort, and one who I’ll back from time to time if I like his price.

Fleeting Spirit obviously has a chance but she is very short for me as was never huge on her Temple Stakes win that made her fav last year.

I have Fleeting Spirit at around about 117 and Spin Cycle at 112+ as he looks to have huge improvement on what he showed at musselburgh, as IMO he must have lost about at least 5lbs through just not being straight forward or prepared for the task on the day.

With regards the Montaff and Age Of Aquarius, they are really nicely bred, but they have to be able to do it on th track aswell, thats what I like about both horses though is that they have both, usually when a horse is good and honest at what it is bred to do, they are usually going places, I have always found.

Good luck with all your bets and hopefully we’ll get a derby result for starters.
