Skybet…
Desert Flower 6-4
Lake Victoria 6-1Strange to see such a price difference. 6-1 looks too big.
March 23, 2025 at 10:08 #1724666that looks to good, but sometimes when it looks to good something could be amiss. Has she got over the BC run?
March 23, 2025 at 12:43 #1724675On the recent AOB stable tour 21/03/25 all is well…
“We gave her as long a break as we could over the winter and her preparation has gone well so far. She obviously won a Group 1 over six furlongs which would make you think that she would be unlikely to stay much beyond a mile this season, but she’s by Frankel, so you never know. We’ll firm up plans for her next week, but she obviously looks a very strong candidate for the 1000 Guineas.”
March 23, 2025 at 13:08 #1724677well we will find out in the coming weeks, hope she is A1 as she was a top class act at two
I see they have her stablemate Fairy Godmother shorter un the betting and she (as said above) has not been seen since winning The Albany at Royal Ascot
March 24, 2025 at 12:11 #17247568s with PP/Laddies
March 24, 2025 at 12:15 #1724757The drift is a bit of a worry.
March 24, 2025 at 12:20 #1724758mike a little bit from O’Brien
“She was at the Curragh last weekend as well on an easy piece of work. I’m not sure if she’ll make the Guineas but we’re training her for it. If she didn’t (make it) she would go for the Athasi Stakes the day after at the Curragh if she didn’t come in time.
“Knowing her she probably will come in time because she’s that type of filly. I’m very happy with her and we think she’s done very well.”
March 24, 2025 at 12:27 #1724759Thanks for the update, I just found a little clip with the ‘easy Lake Victoria work’ being mentioned and where he is talking about both Guineas races.
March 28, 2025 at 16:15 #1724969fairy godmother out by all accounts
April 15, 2025 at 06:43 #1727283Obrien now saying Lake Victoria could make it to the 1000
April 22, 2025 at 17:54 #1727992Bump
May 2, 2025 at 10:52 #1728934Lake Victoria runs. :o)
May 2, 2025 at 15:19 #1728954Massive fan of Lake Victoria and the fact that O’Brien relies only on her is a good pointer in of itself.
That said, given his comments that she came back into training later than many of his other horses (due to running in the Breeders Cup) and the fact that a great number of his horses have been beaten first time out whilst looking in need of the run does greatly worry me that she just won’t be fit enough for this.
I hope that her natural talent (much like it did in the Breeders Cup) will be enough for her to get away with any lack of race fitness, but I could equally see her running well but finishing 3rd or 4th with a comment that ‘she will come on loads for the run’.
I also think that Red Letter could be a big danger and is a bit of a forgotten horse as she had rather unfortunate luck in running both times she faced Lake Victoria and wasn’t beaten far either time.
May 2, 2025 at 16:24 #1728961Wouldn’t call Red Letter a forgotten horse, she been backed into 5-1 in recent times. With a view that Lake Victoria may not have turned up, punters possibly looking for a viable alternative to the short priced Godolphin horse.
May 2, 2025 at 21:23 #1729044Forgotten as in she doesn’t get mentioned anywhere near as much
May 3, 2025 at 16:18 #1729283Expanded’s lamentably bad run (beat just two home) in the 2000g hasn’t give me much confidence for LV tomorrow.
May 3, 2025 at 16:22 #1729286I have faith that Lake Victoria isn’t an Expanded. :o)
