Protektorat looks the obvious one here for me. A class horse favoured by the conditions as he runs without a penalty under 11-2. Won over 2m 6f at Windsor, Class 2 but similar opposition to here, and ran well under a big weight over an extended 3m 3f behind Marble Sands at Cheltenham.
As a side note, Ain’t That A Shame will presumably run as he needs to run in chase to qualify for the Grand National. It will be first run for Tom Ellis, his last run having been when 6th in the 2024 National.
We’ve not had a huge amount of rain in Scotland last few days, light rain forecast intermittently but can’t the see going been any worse than Soft if that. Forecast to cloudy on Saturday as well which is no bad thing!
