Ridiculous isn’t it.
I’ll try and get my behind down there to support some racing at least.
Please do! People knock Arab Racing, and I must admit, before i started working for ARO last month, I hadn’t a clue about it.
It’s a great way for young jockeys to get racing experience especially.
It’s a great shame that Hereford aren’t doing jumps meetings anymore, but we are really chuffed to be keeping racing in some form going at the track.
Good Luck to anyone who enters! I personally hope it’s Denman I’ll be painting!

Sam T-D is definitely the new kid on the block, and a lovely chap to boot. Not sure he’ll knock AP off the top just yet though!
Another young jock i think has massive potential to be one of the best is Hadden Frost. He’s got bags of style.
Also Peter Bowen’s young jock Donal Devereux looks a good prospect.
i enjoyed this immensly, and have been inspired to return to the forum! HIYA!
I hadn’t heard about this!

RIP. A brilliant horse.
I thought he was looking dodgy jumping a few before the fence he fell at, not landing overly well.
Rest in peace lad.

News on the Ballycassidy front from Sportinglife. :
"Ballycassidy is being aimed at Aintree glory once more after a clear success on the weekend.
The 13-year-old faced just three rivals in the Mens Open at the Vale Of Clettwr Point-To-Point at Erw Lon races in Carmarthenshire on Saturday afternoon.
A three-miler in testing ground and strong winds should not have suited the horse, as the best of his form when racing under rules came on a fast surface and usually later in the year, but bravely he fought through this and hit the front with three fences to jump after looking in serious trouble earlier in the race.
The horse, formally trained by Peter Bowen but now in the care of his son Michael, now has a win under his belt this season and connections are targeting better things.
"He was only 70-80% fit today, and he definitely blew-up down the back for the last time but he has stayed on nicely and won well in the end," said Peter Bowen.
"He will now return here (Erw-Lon) again later in the season and will be aimed for the Aintree Foxhunters’ in April.
"He likes Aintree, and in the 2006 Grand National if he hadn’t fallen at Valentines the last time I think he would have definitely been in the money. Donal Devereaux will again take the ride as he gets on well with him and hopefully, the horse will give him a great spin around the big fences!"
Point-To-Point Secretary on Saturday Pat Lewis said, "It is great for Point-racing when a horse like this wins. It is good for the game!"
"Looking good for Bally!

These owners aren’t exactly my favourite owners. They always enter their 500/1 shot no hopes in the big races to pull up after a circuit.
OATCAKES
(Carrs Cheese Melts, at a push).
For comfort eating you can’t go wrong with Welsh Rarbit. Melted cheese and worcestershire sauce!!! Heaven!!!
I’m a fan of toasted wholemeal pita and houmous too.
I remember Paddy riding Osana when he beat Katchit in the Boylesports, and Paddy seemed very enthusiastic over the horse when interviewed after the race. It could be that the owner is shallow in the fact that the horse has won the most prize money with Brennan in the saddle, compared to Scu who has won once on him also… at Plumpton. Who knows. It’s a shame for Tom though.
Meanwhile, back on topic, and a "fat as a barrel" Ballycassidy hosed up today in an Open Point in Wales
…and that, I’m guessing, on ground a bit softer than he’d like, too.
There’s 28 days or thereabouts left for him to score another Open win if the Bowens want him to qualify for Cheltenham. Quick as you can, Bally – Zome’s travel plans depend on it!

Rumor seems to be they’re aim with Bally is to go to Aintree and bypass Cheltenham. So maybe he’ll get his win over the National fences afterall!
Have seen pictures of him from his p2p win yesterday. He really looks tubby, but looked like he was glad to be back racing! And he apparantly also ditched his jockey on the way to post!
a thousand apoligies to all monkerhostin fans,a major senior moment from me and i was there in person too

You’re forgiven. FOR NOW!

Well, we were the Quixall Crossett of the Elite Quiz last night. And, crucially, just as lovable.

gc

You did all look rather sweet sitting there looking bemused, scratching your heads, and grimacing at the flat questions.
Lets hope he gets caught. Can’t understand the mentality of some people.
I have faith Grayson!
Thanks guys!

Zome, some cheerleader you are!
IS THIS BECAUSE I UPSTAGED YOU ALL?!

At least I came back with a theoretical Bronze medal.
Has the trophy got pride of place on the mantle piece Zome? Congratulations.
Forgot to mention, it is tradition for the winner to go on to play in the competition proper.
Mark
I didn’t get a trophy!!!!
I have been promised a prize in the post though. I am waiting in anticipation!Next year i shall have to get myself on team then!
Even though i did put Martin Dwyer instead of Mark Dwyer as the jockey of Flakey Dove!- AuthorPosts
