I see Osana is running tomorrow at Sandown.
Does anyone know why Tom Scudamore is not riding it.
I know he as several rides for Pipe at Doncaster, however I would have thought that being the stable jockey and Osana being the number 1 CH contender he would have been at Sandown to ride it, or has he been jocked off by Paddy Brennan.

January 31, 2009 at 03:30 #207283dont think the owners like scud, i thought he gave the horse a great ride in the champion last year mind.
January 31, 2009 at 03:32 #207286Many thanks for that.
Sad really as I rate Tom Scu.
January 31, 2009 at 03:58 #207295He got jocked off a ride in the summer at Worcester by Thomas Barr on Master Overseer. Remember him making a point of they’re his horses and he gets the choice of who rides which is fair enough.
He must really not like Scu though, Torphichen was a steering job at Ludlow on Monday and he put Farrelly up!
January 31, 2009 at 04:53 #207297Paddy Brenan isn’t a bad replacement though is he.
Under-rated jockey in my opinion, is Brennan.
January 31, 2009 at 08:34 #207301To give a clear answer, Thomas Barr (for several reasons, however harsh IMO) doesn’t want Tom Scu on his horses AFAIK and thus Paddy Brennan rides regardless of yard. It really doesn’t get much more complicated than that.
February 1, 2009 at 01:06 #207412Brenen is not my favourate jockey, he is not that canny, some thing you need too ride at Hexham, Wetherby and many of the northern tracks……
The horse ran well and should improve on better ground and for the run.
February 1, 2009 at 08:37 #207475I remember Paddy riding Osana when he beat Katchit in the Boylesports, and Paddy seemed very enthusiastic over the horse when interviewed after the race. It could be that the owner is shallow in the fact that the horse has won the most prize money with Brennan in the saddle, compared to Scu who has won once on him also… at Plumpton. Who knows. It’s a shame for Tom though.
