Thanks MarkTT and Kris
FRANCISCAN ROCK Boosted the form for SEABANK BISTRO today too
SEABANK BISTRO
4th in last years bumper and screamed a stayer in the making.
This season, better than the bare form suggests, Gave weight to CORBERTS CROSS but comes out slightly in front of that.
Beat SANDONITO 5 lengths and SANDONITO a nose second to EMBASSY GARDENS, (They ran again last time but SANDONITO ran too bad to be true and a line through that race).
SANDONITO ran HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE to 2 and a half lengths. all of that brings BISTRO into this.
But, here is the thing for me. If you watch BISTRO’S races on right handed tracks he cocks his head to the left hand side and ever so slightly jumps left over his hurdles. However, when he races on left handed tracks he is much more straightforward. winning a bumper around Naas beating SANDONITO 5 lengths, finishing 4th in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and last time out winning again around Nass over 2:3 crying out for a step up in trip, Coincidently winning the same race as THE NICE GUY prior to his Albert Bartlett run last season.
OVERLOOKED THIS HORSE
on at massive prices ew and exchange.
Not saying it will win but far too big in the market and will make a lovely chaser.
The settling was key for me today, smashing horse Gallopin.
I will throw my hat into the ring, Last season’s Supreme looked a cracker now horses are starting to come out this season, CH long odds on for the Champion and Jonbon hasn’t put a foot wrong and another fav going for the Arkle and they were 1st and 2nd. Mighty Potter pulled up in Supreme and almost certainly didn’t run its race there. KILCRUIT 3rd and all things considered ran very well indeed.
After finishing 2nd to Sir Gerhard in the bumper Sir Gerhard kicked on the following season and KILCRUIT gets beat by Largy Debut at 1/14, then again at 4/9 with Mullins left wondering and scratching his head in regard to the poor form. Come the turn of the year KILCRUIT goes and wins an ordinary hurdle race, but the time buffs switched onto the race and were impressed by his sectionals and wondered if he was on his way back? He then improved again (finding some of his old form) to run 3rd in that hot Supreme. At Punchestown was used as the pacemaker (in my humble opinion) behind State Man and jumped the last still in second but made a slight mistake and was simply looked after.
This year won his opening chase as he should, very easily. My point being he looks back to his best and his best is at the top table in G1 races and should not be 20/1 for this.
Value EW at 20/1 – KILCRUIT
Agree FF, this is the year for GALLIARD over this 3:6 trip. Back in the day a good prep run for an extreme distance race in the future is a “blow the cobwebs away” over 2:4 ish. Yesterday’s Drinmore was a top race and was he staying on very nicely and that screams the NH Chase.
I will even be as bold to say Galliard will be around the Evens/slightly odds on mark come the day, huge chance
Ive got carried away this year with this race already
STATTLER 20/1 EW
GALLOPIN 6/1……Had to do A PLUS TARD after Haydock with 365 as they went 12/1 (ew)
Then had a screwy bet on NOBLE YEATS at 50/1 with 365 before Saturdays Many Clouds….Seemed rude not to
STATTLER 20/1 EW
GALLOPIN 6/1
A PLUS TARD 12/1 EW
NOBLE YEATS 50/1 EWAnte-post ENERGUMENE 3/1. Honestly can’t see past the obvious in this.
BRANDY LOVE for me. Quirky but very good. Hoping a summer on her back plus another year older with the left-handed track at Cheltenham calms her down as she has got some engine and the likelihood for improvement in spades.
Brandy Love 7/1
I have FACILE VEGA at 7/2 for this and in many multiples. so glad to see it didn’t come out of a canter.
FACILE VEGA – NAP
Surely Gordon Elliot follows, and primes Delta Work towards achieving the same outcome as last year as he did with Tiger Roll previously.
Delta Work 5/2 Ante-post
Same as most, LUCCIA at 10/1 ew. A very nice mare who’s beating of Mullins Eabha Grace at Sandown last season puts her right up there with the Irish mares (Slightly in front) on collateral form. Now we can see she is slick over her hurdles and still a tad green which screams improvement to come.
Galliard Du Mesnil confirmed my thinking yesterday, Ante-post bet at 7/1 from earlier in the year will do for me.
Mighty Potter won in the style of a good horse, but the 2nd was the horse to take out of that race for me.
Galliard Du Mesnil for the NH chase this season…..Fill your boots
FLOUEUR wins today to boost his credentials in this. Decent beginners this today and I would encourage anyone to watch again as plenty of future winners in here.
FLOUEUR made a terrible mistake at the last but stayed on to win and no issues with him running in a big field nor staying further either.
Last season Elliott ran MOUNT IDA over 2 miles then stepped up for one run over 2:4 before the 3:2 distance of the KIM MUIR and improved again to win it.
Ever since I saw it given a “nice ride” behind GALOPIN I thought of this race. FLOUEUR was entered in this today but also entered next week in a handicap at the Dublin racing festival (won’t go there now) and was given his mark of 136. If you take into account Jordon Gainford taking off 3LB today and the handicapper gives it 5/6, he should get a mark of around 139. Add the UK handicappers thoughts and I’m hoping around 142…..lovely
Around 12’s for this now and happy with my 16/1 for any race plus went in again midweek at 20’s for this…..we shall see.
Well, Skelton has NURSE SUSAN running this afternoon at Lingfield. I like her from her attitude to the way she travels and quickens in her races. Has to win today to have any sort of chance in this race come March against the Irish horses.
Thought that 16/1 ew was fair enough but needs a good show today….we shall see….
Ahh well, sometimes you just have to fall on ones sword
I agree, personally (and from a betting perspective) I have the Mullins pair in front of the Henderson’s pair. All four are lovely horses.
Constitution Hill – has been visually impressive but I keep asking myself – What has he beat? A lovely dude of a horse, asleep in the parade ring, on the way down to the start and during the race then quickens up impressively when asked. He does things so professionally for a horse with only two races under rules.
Jonbon – Douvan’s brother with a mouth-watering price tag to boot (not his fault), visually has impressed despite crawling in both starts over hurdles over the first part of his races only then to fly home, what could he be?
Sir Gerhard – Has mixed it at the top level already last season (not to be underestimated that stat) and did things that needed to be done first time out over hurdles and only comes on for that run.
Dysart Dynamo – Looks headstrong (bit like UDS) and tanks along in his races and runs through the line at pace giving the impression there is loads left, good horse this.
Its a tough one to solve especially if they all turn up here (doubt they all will) but an intriguing race nevertheless but I think Mullins will have the winner but happy to eat my words when all said and done…..
Agree with Mike007
They only really got racing coming out of the back straight and Bob as we saw last season can sustain a gallop when in a race with relative ease if and when they go faster (which they will) come Cheltenham.
Others will be flat to the boards but Bob has such a high cruising speed to take him into the sharp end and he will relish that hill.
Worthy fav….without a doubt, the value is in the place markets now…..
