I may be odd but I am actually getting more confident as the race gets closer!!
I think it might be lulling me into a false sense of security though!!
    Come on Arbor Supreme!!

Just come in from work and looked at oddschecker. Arbor Supreme now generally 12s/14s – Stan James has it at only 10/1.
My 25s from last Sunday is looking very tasty! I know the jock’s been announced by willie mullins today, but that’s a crashing of odds in only 1 week! Anyone know if there’s a tasty bit of news to justify?

i was reading an article the other day, saying that arbor supreme can act on good or soft ground, but his jumping is better on soft ground i think it said

    vf

Just read the stats on Racing Post website – has decent form on either heavy/soft or good, but majority of races have been on soft. :D

EDIT: However, has only ever raced in Ireland, so how will he travel?

Theres money piling on Arbor Supreme like there’s no tomorrow…

Noticed that, 14s/16s now – was 25s when i bet a week ago.

Does it go on any ground?
’cause although Aintree will be soft this week, if next week is dry and warm it could easily change to good going by raceday.

Does anyone know the current state of the ground at Aintree? It’s been pretty much none stop raining for the last week and was wondering whether my heavy national could be so? I know it’s still 2 weeks away, but a good head start helps.

Rain most of this week, if the latest prediction models prove to be correct.
But next week is hinting at warm, fairly dry weather, but a week is a long time in UK weather terms, so i’ll be keeping an eye on the models over the next week or so.
I’m a member of a weather forum, with access to weather model data, so i’ll post on here regularly leading up to Aintree.
If it was this weekend coming, for example, i’d confidently predict soft going, but we are 11/12 days away so best to leave a prediction until next weekend.
    Cheers

Fair enough guys. I know NTD is quietly ‘sweet’ on OM. Just checked my folder and i forgot one, Razor Royale e/w at 50s.
I hope i can resist on GN morning, not to bet any others in the race, but knowing me i’ll get sucked in and end up backing another 3 or 4! :D

I’ve had a decent bet on The Package at 20s, Arbor Supreme at 25s, Comply or Die e/w at 25s, Irish Raptor e/w at 40s and a rank outsider e/w at 150s, namely Ollie Magern – don’t ask me why on the last named, i don’t know why either! :D

A good e/w bet at 25s must be Smokey Oakey – will love the "soft" in the going description.

    Happy with that! :D

    Place your bets!
    Bet 365 now NRNB and offering e/w at 1/4 odds 1st 5.

Not sure who i fancy yet. Any tips will be most welcome and analysed by me for me!

with the weights being condensed/compacted will the "winner needs to be carrying less than 11st 1lb" ring true this year?

Well, i’m at a pony club day at Wincanton on May 8th as my niece is riding. PN is always there watching and presenting prizes, so i’m hoping to catch a few words with him –

i’m interested in whether he thinks Big Bucks will stay over hurdles next season (he’s always said his jumping over the bigger obstacles aint up to it). Will Celestial defo go chasing and favoured route to Cheltenham, plus will they be aiming Sanctuaire at next season’s CH?

A good week but I constantly put up Advisor in the Triumph and he just wasn’t man enough

    Same here!

But the Triumph was one of those races where i think many of the jocks just got it wrong, by not chasing Barizan earlier. The vast majority of them obviously thought he was going to tire after a mile or so, i reckon.

Just had bet tonight on next year’s Champion Hurdle – Sanctuaire at 20s with Corals.

this is v.early for me, but i couldn’t resist reinvesting some of my winnings from last week.

    Why is Deep Purple 25/1?

On his form of the start of the season he has the beating of plenty of these.

Had a small wager on DP last night, but main money goes on Poquelin – just hope the rain stays away

Well i had Big Bucks in a treble with MM and Kauto – so that’s gone!

E/W i’m going to take a chance on Katchit. Already have him at 25s in an e/w double with Reve de Sivola(3/1 for the place today) who finished 2nd today, so fingers crossed for tomorrow. My big worry is King’s horses seem to be firing on NO cylinders at the mo!

Did Powerstation e/w at 40/1 a few weeks ago as well.

Dont worry about Kauto Star, the best horses get themselves fit regardless of stable form.

Been banging on about Nicholls for months, my comments about hoping he had a poor cheltenham seem to be coming true – karma for tataniano,

Only joined the forum in the last couple of weeks, so what have you been saying about one of the most ‘open’ trainers? – always gives punters top news from his stable, not just about horses running on a saturday in his sat column, but also pointers for the following weeks and months.

Top bloke in my view and a pretty successful trainer

Sorry, but i’m not one for armchair punters whinging about this and that – anyone in gambling land have to take the rough with the smooth.

Very quiet on the cheltenham threads today.
Is that because it’s the 2nd day and the excitement of the first day is tempered by the realisation of everyone that Cheltenham Festival winners are extremely hard to come by?

    It’s a 4-day meet; i’ve often had a better last 2 days.
    1 winner, 1 e/w so far.

Picked up an e/w on Michael Flips at 33s – evens for me on the day now in terms of winnings/lost money.
My main bet of the day to come in the next, Sanctuaire. No Bumper bet for me.
