I am a casual enough punter. I don’t back everyday i don’t look even pay attention to racing that isn’t on the weekends tbh.

I haven’t lost a fortune or gambled tens of thousands down the drain. I not a punter of horses these days. I like my big bet on a big event example Ryder Cup or the World Cup or 6 Nations or a rugby match. In fact i made a tidy sum on Friday night on Horse racing. I about even in my gambling over my life time but i am well down on Horses.

In my experience i find that general sports are much more straight and not corrupt that Horse Racing. Horse Racing is sooo intertwined with betting i don’t think people these days can enjoy it without giving money to those bookies.

People can say be selective and be this be that but maybe we just shouldn’t back Horse Racing. I am coming around to that view day by day. The amount of skullduggery in this sport is frighting yet their are people who gamble on it and say the same thing.

Fair play to the people who make profits on antepost betting…strangely enough that the only time i have made significant amounts of money. Spotting value in a particular market. But the 30+ races that are on today. At Navan i have seen 2 blowouts already. 2 Fallers in the top 2 in the betting in 2 races. A odds on couple(start me up and 2nd fav) in a maiden be defeated at lim. A 1/4 shot scramble home at ffos las. Horse Racing is just too unpredictable for me to continue to back. Their are soo many variables i can’t see how people can make money day to day.

And Punters are leaving Racing….all you have to look is the levy. People are now much more interested in betting on Human Being that 4 legged animals.

Soccer Betting is huge now…Biggest growing market as the bookmakers keep telling us.

Yes…when he puts them on slopes. Specifically a pin placement on top of a hill is my favorite.

How many people have broke evens on Horse Racing in their life? . I wonder who is paying Patrick Kennedy Ceo of Paddy Power 7 Million a year

"It’s a minimum of £500 with transport, entries, jockey fees etc to run. If the prize money is £1,600 less deductions then what’s the point for so many? If you see some of the successful owners of more moderate horses it is abundantly clear that they not only back em but lay them brutally when they don’t think they have a great chance. What would you do bet on that or a Barcelona or Man Utd match?"

    Barca

Depressing outlook….the game is dying on its feet.

We can easily go down the route of the greyhounds…where once a very entertaining sport is not dying and being propped up by bookmaking giants having their fishy hands everywhere. God knows the corruption in Dogs???

The British Levy is so bad that they be running for free Dinner’s on course and Irish Racing can attract a crowd bigger than my local nightclub for quality cards

    I take your point Frank….

The weekend stuff is exciting but is it fair…that the midweek punter has to put up with cheating just because its aw dross.

Another thing…how do timeform/atr/ruk presenters get the will to go in and watch such garbage and then try and not to say anything nasty when their is cheating everywhere.

Matt Chapman for all his faults is superb in giving just critique of a race. His tirade against a irish apprentice was fully justified as he stopped a horse yet Chapman gets a massive ban from atr for rocking the boat

That was just disgusting…..one of the arrogant and disgraceful rides ever seen. Hope he is pillored in the states after that. Robbed the best horse in the race

    I think its a farce.

This horse has been a storybook of excuses and media love towards his trainer.

Every single race their is either a problem or he cant run on ground or he isn’t ready or whatever.

Stinks….Hope the Yanks told him to F Off with his horse tbh. Moaning about the track and all this rubbish…the track is fine

I staked 218.43 Euro last night and returned with a profit of 84.90 Euro which is a return of 38.86% on my nights work which is decent start. I had a horrid time at the Breeders Cup with the favorite in the last….came 2nd and would have boosted the stats

I read something very interesting that Harry Findlay bets 100 Million a year but has a 4% return on his investment.

4 Million is 4 Million. Now i reckon all punters can manage at least a 30% return on investments if done correct. Now i taken this to the betfair account this weekend to see what can be done. I certainly believe this is the way forward to for me. To take betting as a investment as such.

    Is part of racing….

He prob wasn’t even half fit so even if ruby battered him he wouldn’t have got closer.

The question has to be asked with willie and AOB is it okay to school unfit horses on the course?

    Coward isn’t even showing up.

British Racing is dying unless the levy is sorted out. They wait too long and mass exportation of owners will head across the english channel

Obviously the main one would have been Weapons Amnesty.

Looks like Pandaroma but you certainly would not want to be taking Noel Meade to take him over to England.

I guess Cooldine had a awful season last year so he may improve a lot on his placing last season.

Sizing Europe i think will be very good if he can stay that 3 mile trip
