    I have 50 quid at 30 on Betfair….

He is now 15.5 so hopefully he get shorter than 8 or so and i can lay off with some profit. Mind you might just keep the bet as he is their only Derby Horse and not convinced about the rest of the Derby Horses that have gone to Godolphin now.

    HMMM

I will reinvest a few more before he runs in a trial i think.

Can’t stake anymore until he reappears next year

WOW EEE WOOO WITH BELLS ON.

As Matt Chapman would say. Zaidpour made a striking debut for Mullins today. This very classy flat horse ran away with the 2m4f race today. This horse has every inch of a stamp on Micky D( Crack novice chaser for this year). He just oozed class that can only be found with nice classic breds. Very exciting….wooopppiiee!!!!!!!!

Afterwards Mullins revealed "he showed me today what he had been telling me at home!"

He added "I would not be afraid to drop him back in trip as he has plenty of gears. We’ve plenty of time with him but he may run in the Royal Bond Hurdle at Fairyhouse on November 28 next."

Will start my laying thread in a few days.

But just a quick note on Recital…did it quite well today by all accounts. Haven’t seen the race but he won it by 5l. Still not convinced about these Group 3 Races(Group 1 Races) on heavy ground. I suspect its a nice boost to Montjeu after a pretty horrendus year it has to be said. Its quite obvious now that Roderic O Conner and Recital are the only Guineas Derby Horse he has and we should never deviate from that notion i feel.

Rory i understand what you mean but if the favorite is generally the horse with the best form n the race and yet only 4 can run to their form in 30 odd races its damning in its self of how hard its to seperate the chaff from the good un’s

Does anyone have any stats on favorites winning Maiden races where it be flat/nh/bumpers

    compared to

    Favorite in Novice/condition events.

I always seem to be decent at betting on novice races but can’t do anything but lose money on maiden races when i bet on them.

I not a favorite backer per say but i thinking if i become a full fledged member of the bookmaker community(LAYER!!!!!!)

    I might do okay

I cant see why Murtagh would be annoyed at not riding rags for Ballydoyle. Young O Brien got a few maiden winners okay but that is going to dent Murtagh’s pride i doubt.

Their has to more to it and i suspect its more to do with AOB idea of riding that Murtagh’s. Johnny has never been so poor on 2yr olds this year(giving them no chance out the back)…and geting to work when the race is over. I would imagine Murtagh doesn’t want to school horses on the race track like AOB does

1 Favorite from Wolves 7 races won today at 11/4.

3 odds on beaten at wolves

4 favorites in the first 3 in 7 races at wolves

AW just is the ultimate mug betting if you don’t have the inside scope or even if you dont its still crap

    Compared to NH today

5 favorites in 7 races at Carlisle

3 favorites in 6 races at Southwell

The fact Murtagh had to get his agent to announce the split and also said he wont comment further on the matters imo means there was a massive falling out between the 2.

    Pat Smullen for me.

I can see someone like Eddie Ahern becoming Weld’s Stable Jockey. I noticed how he come’s over and back to Ireland some race days and rides for Weld. Question is would he uplift the clan.

Souillmon would be a great addition Irish Racing. He be a great jockey for them. Still can’t forget his ride on Hurricane Run in the King George…was immense

"Did Chapman get a suspension from the channel? How do you hear about these things?"

Chapman went missing for more than a month after his tirdade. It was generally accepted that he was not allowed to present on the channel for the forseeable future. He gives plenty of hints during his broadcasting as-well this had happened. The funny thing was that horse bolted up next time out  .

Also i do find it quite easy to turn say 50 quid into 300 quid in 2 days on Horse Racing but then i blow it when i get on a losing run. The simple fact that people say their is too much horse horse racing and i agree with them. The whole thing is becoming a bit diluted in quality terms.

I going to have to adjust to watchin the sport i love with no financial interest what so ever from now on
