Wallace is living in fantasy land as far as the rules of racing are concerned. Obviously there is certain information that should only be known to the owner but it is the ‘cheating’ which annoys punters and this is the problem and the reason why punters are finding other sports to bet on which is to the detriment of racing.
Wallace – you stated the following -
’The owner and trainer of a horse are entitled to keep all information about the horse private. Punters have no rights in this’
This is not true according to the racing rules so how can you state that other people should start living in the real world when clearly it is you who is living in fantasy land.
Wallace is wrong with his statement and obviously knows little about horse racing. The following is part of the jockey club rules regarding instructions to trainers about their horses performance.
(ii) Introduced compulsory reports on improved and poor performance
a) Instruction H14 states: ‘The Stewards of the Jockey Club give notice that trainers must report anything which might have adversely affected the performance of any horse they train in a race.’
This is done by a trainer or his/her representative and is reported to the Stewards Secretary or a Veterinary Officer. It should be done as soon as possible after a race, but should evidence come to light later, it can be reported directly to the Jockey Club or via a Stewards Secretary or a Veterinary Officer.
All reports are made public. If made on the day, via the public address, otherwise on the Jockey Club website and the Racing press.
Therefore the trainer is not entitled to keep all information about their horse private.

Agree with Seagull 100% about the Fonthill Road run ( I did not bet on the race ) as it is ludicrous that trainers should hide significant facts like this from the betting public. If the public did not bet on horses then flat trainers such as Fahey would be out of a job but some of them continue to show contempt to the punters.
Racing needs more openness and honesty from trainers and again I agree with Seagull when he quotes Paul Nicholls as a man who is always willing to give his honest opinion about his horses and his column on C4 teletext sets a great example. Wannabe Posh disliked the heavy ground last time out and will appreciate the better going at Goodwood in the 5:05 and I’ve backed this filly e/way at 13/2.

Hope you have better luck tomorrow.
Cleandries — The name of your selection describes how I feel whenever I pick a winner;) Good luck with it.
Anyway I do wish Newmarket would provide more races for 2yo’s:biggrin:
Torquemada is the form horse for the 3:50 at Beverley and his trainer is in good form. I’m a bit worried that he will find problems in running over the 7f trip with 16 runners but I’ve bet on him to win at 7/2.

I think that this is a terrible way for RUK to treat it’s existing customers and I’m very surprised by it. I have Sky and I’m thinking about subscribing to RUK but I’m not sure yet. As a matter of interest what happens if you cancel it for a couple of weeks and then join again? I assume that RUK would still charge £20 as you have been with them before.
Barons Spy travels well in his races but often lacks an extra gear at the finish but hopefully he’ll run well enough today to win the 4:40 at Leicester. I’ve backed him e/way at 9/2.
Watch out Insomniac, the PC brigade will be after you now;) From my own experience, I’d say that groups from a Pakistani origin have the least sense of humour.
Cleandres — Keep up the good work and it’s a pity that Continent couldn’t manage to finish one place better as then you’d have done even better today.
I managed to get 2 winners today which is a bit of a miracle :o so I am now 15 pts up since I started:) but this does include best prices and using Betfair to lay horses. Good luck.
Just want to say a big ‘Well Done’:) to Cleandries who selected Captain Marvelous to win the 2nd race at Newbury at odds of 20/1:biggrin: Should pay for a few drinks tonight!
ÂÂÂ
I have done 5 bets today which are
2:40 Ayr – Collateral Damage – e/way at 9/2
3:30 Newb – Pinpoint – e/way at 11/1
3:40 Catt – Neros Return – to win at 3/1
5:10 Newb – Trimleston – e/way at 13/2
I don’t fancy Cadeaux Du Monde chance’s in the 2:00 at Catt so I have layed this horse not to win at 7/4.
Cleandries – Hope your horse gives you a good run for your money:)
I am 1 pt down since I started posting but I have a strong fancy today which will hopefully put me in profit. The horse is Kinsya and runs in the 5:05 at Ayr & has an excellent each way chance. He’ll love the ground and I rate his chances highly:biggrin: . I’ve bet on him e/w at 11/2.
I’ve also had a win bet on Tam Lin at 3/1 in the 3:45 Newbury. Has the form to win this.
I am amazed:o that the police asked your mate the following ‘ He was asked whether he would have backed the horse had he known it had been layed by others’
Every horse that is backed on Betfair is layed by others – that’s the principle behind the business and the reason for it’s success!! Do these detectives ( if that’s the right desciption for them? ) have any idea what they are doing. I see a ‘not guilty’ verdict is on the cards.
I am pleased to say that I have never heard of Jeremy Kyle so maybe I live a more interesting life than I realised :) ÂÂÂ
