Spot on, well done Seasider!
And yes, we even got a geography refresher in there too.

You’ve got Damascus right Seasider!
I’ll give you a clue that the other horse was a Classic winner in England. Now that you have Damascus, the rest should hopefully fall into place…

Okay, here’s a riddle for you.
I’m thinking of two Classic winners, on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
Both finished third in the first leg of their respective Triple Crown campaigns.
Both were out of daughters of English Classic winning stallions.
Both were decent stallions themselves.
What are their names, and what do they have in common?
That’s Never Say Die, Lester Piggott’s first Derby winner in 1954. Also won the St. Leger. Smashing looking little horse.

You are close St Nic!
You have the brothers, and you have the link to today (Eclipse day; an Eclipse winner) – but you need the hurdler, and the connections are not the two brothers!
So it’s not a Grade 1 hurdler sired by Glint of Gold then…
I’m pretty confident I have the two brothers… I suspect they are Glint of Gold and Diamond Shoal, both by Mill Reef out of Crown Treasure (Graustark).
Not sure about the connection with the hurdler or today (unless it’s that Mill Reef won the Eclipse Stakes in 1971)?
Has O’Brien forgotten about the term “Summer break”
Sure he hasn’t – Gleneagles got a very long one.

Anyone backed Galileo Gold off the back of the Eclipse?
Are we talking human brothers or equine brothers?
Or is that too much of a clue?

Said Gurkha isnt a good horse!
I suppose if you say before a race that a horse is crap but will definitely win, then you can say ‘I told you so’ after the race whatever the outcome.

What a fab race, I enjoyed that!
I was on My Dream Boat (now wondering if he was a one-hit wonder), but was nevertheless excited to see Hawkbill go on like that.
No excuses for The Gurkha that I could see, he did look like he was going to go past Hawkbill a couple of times but I guess he just wasn’t as good today.
Aww, I’m useless at NH as I don’t follow it; I’ll await the better informed. :)
Spot on @Titus Oates. :)
Okay, nice easy one.
What links Seabiscuit with an English Classic winner from the 1960s?
In all honesty I’ve never seen a photo of him before – nice looking horse!
Ooh wait wait is it Sovereign Path? I thought he was born in the forties/fifties but I was confusing him with his sire Grey Sovereign.
Right Boy?
