Grasshopper – I would suggest most people know what you said to be true and just choose to get on with their lives, knowing they can’t do anything about it. Admittely the the quailty of life may be called into question but who are you or I to judge?
But if anyone wants to make a difference they can – Thus spoke Zarathustra.
Thanks Carlisle – I’ll try and compare whether there is any sufficient difference between Raceform & RPR, but I suspect your right.
With reference to the pattern I mention that I may have stumbled across the top three rated for the Aw races were as follows:
Vlast Weimer 133
Blythe Spirit 125 1st
Shava 110 2nd ÂÂÂ
Wheelavit 112
Lopinet 108 1st
Kabeer 104
Little Jimbob 111
Pop Music 111
Samanrinda 111 1st
The ratings were derived from Raceform median times and G/a. The person who complied the times and G/a, Dave Bellingham, built his reputation by compling speed ratings on the Aw. The approach in using median times as oppossed to standard times has come in for a degree of criticism but in my experiance, using then for Hurdlers, they do seem to work.
The difference between the ratings in the first two races which were submitted to these pages and the above, is the original were not adjusted for weight, standard practise for the Beyer, Mordin, Bellingham approach to speed ratings.
However, as can be seen by adjusting for weight carried and weight to be carried the winner of each race came from the top three rated (which is good enough for me). Obviously this is very earlier days and these are the the only Flat races I’ve rated since Dancing Brave won the Arc! and came about after much commotion, sweating and swearing under breath, in the Pompete household as I tried to find, and in doing so excuse anybody in earshot of moving them, my collection of Raceform returns.
So, what I would like to do is spend the next few days putting together a database of the last years returns after which I should be able to do a proper study over the course of a month. I shall of course when the database is complete contiune with our combined efforts.
Is that O.k?
Carlisle – sorry if this is a silly question but what is the line for at the bottom of your list? Also does your system only work with TS & RPR or can you use other ratings, if so I can send over Raceform ratings and see if there is a difference.
Anyone got some straw?

I did try Anmesty a couple of times but the mass letter writing groups freaked me out a bit :o
Grasshopper it may be in you interest to shake this political system to its roots with the election of a dye in wool Old Labour, Clause Four and all, PM, its a shame, anyway we are all gonna leave again when Brown or Millband win.
Grasshopper – This is no Joke – Join the Labour Party and vote for John McDonnel for the leadership.
I left the party about five years ago – fed up with the lot of them – but rejoined last November, and I know of at least 20 others that have done the same for the same reason.
Still waiting for the state to wither away? Grasshopper.

FSL, If I’m reading it correctly?
Isn’t what you’ve just explained fraud (changing slips) and theft!

What would be the accountance procedure in the above case, if the money is not returned?
Presumably it can’t go throught the books as no transaction has taken place, its been voided.
Manager’s back pocket or shared out between the lads!
As I understand it, the Scottish Parilment has the powers to raise the level of taxation in Scotland up to 3% above the general level in the rest of the U.K. Has this been done since devolution?
If yes, what where the reasons for doing so and if no, has there ever been a call for it to happen?

Formath – Ken Hussey is the person soley responsilble for my interest in speed figures and ratings. I remember fondly walking to the paper shop every Thursday Morning ( in those days) and the first page I turn to was Split Second.
We ignore such wisdom at are peril.

Paid for by the Scottish Parliament – my point exactly,
(well not really cos I’m only joking).
Good point about the roads – I drove by back from Heathrow on the M4 westbound a couple of weeks ago and not only the number but also the depth of potholes and ruts in the inside lane around the Reading area shocked me.
If I been travelling a little bit fastest and hit a pothole just in the wrong place, I would have had an accident – on an empty road!
Isn’t Scottish PT cheap because it’s subsided by the English taxpayer?
