Celtic Swing was all about soft ground. He was a fantastic 2yo and the fact that the 2000 GNS wasn’t run on soft was all it was about IMO.

The point no-one can understand is how the sport has been completely out manoevered by the betting industry. Maybe racing’s glorious leaders have been guilty of non trying. With all the money involved how can we not guarantee £10K prize money minimum. does anyone really believe that Betfair, Lads and the like can exist without horseracing. Why not let them try it. the majority of LBO’s are sustained by FOBT’s anyway so they are not a longterm proposition.

Why was Betfair not allowed to sponsor RUK and make it FTA. Answer because punters would have stayed at home where they can’t fling the odd tenner into the crack cocaine gambling bots. Simples innit. I suppose maybe Mark Davies will tell us what he knows one day.

Prufrock. he’s obviously another Jimbo just wants to share the knowledge out amongst the great unwashed

I have come to the conclusion that topspeed is as accurate as TF tfg’s now. What do you reckon then?

One of the many elephants in the room is the amount of owners who are hanging about by the exit door. I know of plenty of trainers making "arrangements" and doing deals to keep boxes filled. Unfortunately if the rose tinted glasses brigade knew how many owners were well behind on training fees then they would see the writing in 8′ high letters like the rest of us.

Absolute racing certainty thaat the horse will gag up on heavy ground at some point in the future. thatw ill be when they say he’s strengthened up, been taught by Monty Roberts to alter his action to a special heavy ground prance or that old favourite he’s had a wind op!

Anyone who sincerely belives that RFC initiatives are anything other than job justification is very naive. Moving big races is rearranging where members of the band sit on the Titanic!

DJ goes through periods where he goes with his trainers opinion blindly. Hence his relationship with Pipe Junior will need a very big winner this year to sustain it.

RFC is simply a vehicle to remove pots of cash from the sport. RFC chaps are there to enrich themselves. It’s just another consultancy job for them.

For all McGrath’s shortcomings and he has been displaying them to the world every week for 20 years on C4, he obviously does know plenty about the sport. The last person from RFC I spied on the TV was a public school oik type who was being interviewed Ascot. Turned out he was the son of Bunny Warren the infamous boss of the Japanese Stallion Importing Corporation! I must report to you that Bunny Junior sounded most expert-like and used plenty of marketing cliches. He looked liked he hadn’t started shaving yet!

For all his grammatical shortcomings I will forgive Prufrock on this occasion as he was a former employee of Jimbo and who knows what issues there are between the pair of em. For him to side with Junior Warren and his ilk there must be a few wheelbarrows worth.

I am astounded that Prufrock seems to have sided with RFC on this one. Has he applied for Jim’s job at the BHa or something? whatever 1 thinks of McGrath he knows the game and RFC are consultants enriching themselves.

When we talk about racings parasites I think that Weatherbys deserve an honourable mention. Exactly how much they take out of the sport I don’t know exactly. What I do no is that when I first got into ownership I was gobsmacked at all the charges they raised. Then when computerised entries came in they kindly offered us owners the chance to pay to log on with them! Unbelievable.

Just had a look on their website and it gives no details of their t/o as they seem to eb a private Golden Goose. here’s my speculation. I reckon that for every £1 in prize money they have 20p away for plugging in their Dell workstations every morning. AND you can bet your bottom dollar that as prize money falls their fees certainly don’t.

I would really like to know how bloated this equine Whitehall costs? Anyone know then please put me out of my seething misery.

Isn’t no improved offer from bookmakers just a way of saying it will be about £60M. Can you honestly see the Tories or even the corrupt phoney socialists not siding with big business.

I can’t belive that the media rights are only £4.8k per race (I think thats what I read!). BF should ask for fast pics for IR and pay say £3K a race themselves. If Bf think their racing markets aren’t going to go south with slow pics and £1,600 prize money they are dreaming. £1.6BN company and they can’t afford RUK pics!!! You couldn’t make it up really!

Oh and get the horsemans group to boycott races below a certain value. No horses then no media rights for the courses! Simples innitt
