Tatatiano was very impressive and I think at this stage he deserves his place towards the head of the market. If you are quick you can still get on at 14-1 with Voctor Chandler and Coral the others have all cut their prices to 10’s and 12’s.
Tatatiano jumped well looks like he has masses of scope and will certainly stay up the hill.
He was under more pressure than Sizing Europe who wasn’t pushed at all.
No doubt there will be plenty more coming out soon to show put their hats in the ring but at the moment Tatatiano for me is top of the lot
Whoops!!!!!!!!!
Aines Delight won it very well and My Girl Jode was well beaten.
I thought the jockey gave the horse a very competent ride and would advise you re-think that particular system!
I agree with your comments and would recommend backing My Girl Jode who looks ready to rumble for the Tompkins yard. Mark Tompkins generally comes in to form at this stage of the season and is 8/1 still. Get On!!!!
The clock is wrong the race isn’t off yet!
This looks a cracker but I will be going in big on
Tidal Bay
. Everything looks perfect for him.
He has won first time out the last three years, he looks sure to get his favoured good ground and has three course wins to his name.
I have no doubt that Knowhere from the Twiston-Davies yard will give him a good race but I understand that his preparations have hit a couple of minor problems that have interrupted his work and he might be best left alone for until he has a run under his belt.
Of the others I fancy Tartak to run into a place. He loves the flat sharpish tracks like Aintree, Kempton and Huntingdon and is another who although has form on most grounds seemed to love the ground when winning the Manifesto Novices Chase at the course in April. He won that race really well against strong opposition and must be in there with a big shout.
I agree with most of what has been written on the subject and the only thing to add is that for those having seen the horse – who was undoubtedly a long way from full fitness he is surely a horse to follow for next time.
He did make mistakes and looked rusty however, between 3 & 4 out he was still travelling ok and looked like closing on the leaders. It was at this point that R. Johnson realised he was emptying quickly and went easy on him.
It is important to realise different trainers have different ways of training and if the trainers name had been N. Twiston-Davies or T. Vaughan he may have been worth a second look but given P. Hobbs tends to look more to the future along with the like of V. Williams and H. Knight he was never a bet.
Those present have a better chance given that they can get up close on course but given the live tv footage now available and the online betting markets available I’m afraid there are no excuses.
Bring on his next outing!!!!!!!!
Cheltenham Preview Evening
With talk of Cheltenham Preview evenings I thought I should mention I will once again be hosting a Preview evening in Stow-on-the-Wold (25 mins from Cheltenham)on the Monday evening before Cheltenham. The event starts at 7.30pm giving everybody chance to get back from racing at Stratford earlier that day. We have so far confirmed the presence of Tom Symonds (Nicky Hendersons Asst) and one of the stable jocks – last year Felix de Giles and are hoping to once again get along some of the Ladbrokes lads.
Last years event was well attended and lots of winners were given including Punjabi (given over Binocular!! intersting to know JP had not a penny on!), Forpadydeplasterer as well as Dunguib and lots more.
I would get more details up nearer the time confirming timings etc
Cheers

Here are a couple –
Vino Griego – Trained by the very shrewd Gary Moore I think this horse could become a serious player in some of the big novice hurdles at Cheltenham or Aintree come the pinnacle of the season. Following his opening second to Zazamix of Nicky Henderson’s he went onto to comfortably beat Western Leader. I would think he may be sent straight over hurdles and may make an appearance at one of the early Cheltenham meetings. Groundwise I would think that anything with soft in it should do the trick.also from the Mighty Paul Nicholls yard a hurdler to follow might be Oamaru Stone – He has run in two Irish Points winning his maiden well before being snapped by the Stewart Family and having just the sole start in a bumper at Fontwell in Feb 09. Well backed and tried to make use of his obvious stamina, weakened and finished 5 lengths back from Latin America who went on to finish mid div running on in The Champion bumper at the Festival. He looks likely to begin in a Novice hurdle at Exeter early next week.
My Cheltenham 2010 Antepost bets
Supreme Novices – Sweeps Hill 16/1 40pts Win
Arkle – Daves Dream 33/1 50pts EW and then Gold Cup 2011
Champion Hurdle – Bahrain Storm 50/1 20pt EW
Gold Cup – Notre Pere 20/1 50pts EWThats all at the moment folks!!

Hurricane Fly is the obvious standout much in the same way Master Minded is for the Champion Chase and there is a lot to be said for the backing the two in a nice double! I can’t see HF going off at 7/2 on the day!!!
Of the less known horses maybe Bahrain Storm who runs in tomorrows Cesarewitch. He has shown very decent hurdles form in routing the field in the Galway hurdle. He also seems to be progressing nicely judged on his flat form this summer and is rated in the high 90’s. He will obviously have to improve a fair way but one good sign is his form on stiff tracks (Galway and Clonmel) and his appreciation of an uphill finish. I think he is the ew bet at this moment given that he will probably run a decent race tomorrow and be cut in price. Take the 50/1 on offer with Paddy Power and I bet come tomorrow night the best on offer is 25/1 – 28/1.

http://www.thecotswoldtipster.blogspot.comSizing Europe was fairly impressive but we do have to remember he didn’t beat alot. The jock seemed to be waiting for someone to come and challenge him for about the last mile!!!
I fancy come the Arkle he will be taken on by a few and his jumping pressurised. I would like to see him jump under pressure at full tilt before piling in at such cramped ante post odds.
Best priced Ante-Post bet at the moment is Daves Dream from the Nicky Henderson yard. I know they think alot of him and judged on his runs to date the Arkle trip and Cheltenham should suit. I’m not sure when he is due out but is worth a few quid ew at 33-1.
