cheers for all the responses guys, Ive decided to scrap the system and look for something else. Regarding the staking plan Im hoping to just adopt a level stakes plan

My main focus is now going to be the races with the two highest prize money each day, with the remit that the best horses always win the best prizes.

Yes Carlisle my first port of call will be to narrow the field using a trends based method, followed by a VDW type approach to the remaining field. Its a work in progress starting today so hopefully it will see me right?!?

Today my selections are Double Banded (plate) and Hitchens in the 3.40 @ Windsor

Yes Cav looking good so far, Im trying to do something similar at the moment I take it that your not looking to recoup your losses.

I’ve search high and low for a staking plan, but some of the more knowledgable people on here are advising me that its a no goer. My dutching strike rate is over 60% so Im inclinded to think that there is some millage on adopting a simple plan.

Best of luck with the season

cheers for the advice guys the dutching is proving to be successful but it is let down by the odd one or two races.

Dutching the place market sounds interesting.

Im just after a way to reduce the loss from the races where there isnt a winner

Not sure if it correct but perhaps some of our friends in the press could confirm.

Any ideas if and when we will have to start to pay to access the online site?

Heard rumours that it was going to be around a £10pm

    Aretemis,

I agree with you completely I was simply identifying a simple method when looking at an improving horse

Martin your point concerning improving horse is a good one and something I have been looking at mainly from a form guide perspective.

For instance the following show the form of a horse

    343212

I add the first 3 scores together to give 5(2+1+2), then the next three (1+2+3) = 6 and then the next three (2+3+4)= 9, To give figures of 5,6,9. This is a very crude way (I think) of showing an improving horse.

Some interesting comments on here so far

    Hi again,

For me the most important part of selection is narrowing the field in any race there are only 3/4 animals that can surely win.

Might be well off the beaten track but its a start?

Hi Carlisle so its back to the drawing board eh??

Since our last postings together I’ve been striving to find a workable system that can keep me ticking over without breaking the bank.

Now I’m not as experienced as some of the guys on here but in my short time following horse racing I’ve found that in the main the best horses win the most races. I calculate this using the winning vs races a formula that will be familiar to many. This however can be a very time consuming exercise and I starting to think that a system need to be quick and easy to do.

If thats the case then what about using data available on a card? Days since last race, top weights, tipsters?!?

I’m probably well off the mark on the above but I’m definately interested in getting involved in this thread

Sad to hear that you lost your pot of cash, I’ve looked at the favourites system and to be honest I dont think I could live with chasing the favourites. To much risk involved for my liking

Having some good days and some bad so far. Also considering a laying system, so if anyone has any ideas on or has successfully used a laying system then I’d be keen to hear about it

    Cheers
