Clivex,
Thanks for posting the full list of maxims as I hadn’t seen all of them previously. In general I think they are interesting and useful. Not sure I agree with 21 though, I think long distance chases in soft ground can be a useful betting medium as the field can often be whittled down to only a handful of credible contenders. Also can’t understand why the RP (and ATR) come in for so much stick, they both provide an excellent service. The wealth of statistical information in the RP is incredible and useful eg course jockey/trainer stats, trf, trainerform compare to the sporting lifeand chronicle the amount of info at one’s disposal is excellent although I accept currently most of this can be obtained (currently free) from the website. Whilst ATR’s coverage at times is patchy and some of the presenters tedious, getting being able to see the full card for most meetings, being able to see the smaller meetings (which both avoid trips to smokey bookies) and having the advantage of french racing and replays is fantastic.

    Hi Matron/Mr E,
Keep at it!
I check the forum most days, generally Max bets and Systems Sections. I certainly hope kersly returns as his novice hurdle system did me a couple of good turns!
As I can’t acess the forum in the day, it’s great when selectons are posted the night before.
The main purpose of posting is to make you aware that there are TRF members out there who appreciate your postings!
Cheers and best of luck
Ollie

    Matron,
I’m a bit confused!
looking at your original post, it seemed the system was the first unnamed favourite of the day, but from recent posts it clearly eg Le Duc it cant be the first race fav, or is there more to the system (assuming you’re able to share this).
By the way the graphic icons you incorporate are good.
Ollie

    Hi Robotica,

Have I got this right your banker is always the longest priced horse of your selections regardless of your perceived chance of it’s merits?

I realise you cant give away details of the system but which sort of races do you favour, hcaps, non-hcaps, small fields, a cetain shape to a race etc?
Ollie

    Well done again !
Sadly I didn’t go in this time as it was odds on with betfair early this am, which I’d checked nearer race time now.

    Robert,

Further to Scotia’s message, copies of the Raceform Handicap Book articles on VDW have been published in little booklets, they can be obtained from Browzers in Manchester, I think their web site is http://www.browzers.co.uk
They do a VDW package of booklets for about £35.
They make interesting reading, (I have no doubt he did exist, also one of the booklets contains an interview by Tony Peach). I was v.interested in VDW methodology about a year ago and found Scotia’s site v.helpful. But sadly I didn’t find the "system" that helpful in finding winners (in my hands), but it would be interesting if someone in the forum applied his methods p;rospectively, although I suspect that selections may differ.
