When the grd is soft or heavy they tend to run it on the straight course if its good or faster they tend to use the round course

If Cape Blanco had been the hot fav and finished well tailed off then i could understand the stewards, but he was not and did not so what business is it of theres to ask for the horse to see the vet??

The pace was def a factor, other jockeys mentioned it as well, but your right about the guineas not being sna main target

A big let down of a race for me,its a shame they split into 3 groups and that there was not more pace on early. For me what spoilt it,there were to many no hoper’s who shouldn’t of been in the field in the race, and its pretty clear coolmore are not that interested in this race anymore so i wouldn’t be backing any of there horses for this classic anymore.

I think such is the confidence about the fav at ballydoyle is the probably reason for the price about fencing master, much the same as in 2006 with GW and Horatio Nelson

A race to savour i think and im looking forward to what should be a good renewal. Its hard enough to get any info from ballydoyle at the best of times but when all is not right it usually gets out.Last yr with both rvw and mcm the vibes were not good and i think labrokes were the longest about both of them which said it all really.I think the fact they have not rushed steinbeck back for this (like they did with rvw last yr)tells a tale that they must be pretty confident about the fav and AOB has trained some fast guineas winners kok and gw to know if this fella has the speed for that race. Someone mention one cool cat and the confidence about that horse, but didnt he get pulled up after 3 furlongs??? they was no way he would of stayed a mile anyway.

How was EP caught napping??? SNA was pulling double at the back of the field came though and won easily by 4 lengths EP didnt then and wont come guineas day have the speed to beat SNA no matter where they finish in the field

The main negative for me with special duty is the fact that she is by a sire who’s top juveniles do not seem to train on

Its going to be a very interesting race indeed. Canford cliffs was very impressive in his 1st 2 runs no doubt about it,but then there was no excuse why he was beaten in the morny for me he was just beaten by 2 better horses plain and simply really and he doesn’t scream classic winner either, xtension who was 2nd in the coventry didn’t have the speed for 6 furlongs and will be better for a mile plus this yr.Workforce was impressive in his maiden, but micheal Stoute has had a lot of horses like him over the yrs but when push comes to the shove they tend to be found wanting. (king of happiness, evasion zactino) are just 3 that spring to mind. The ballydoyle horses are as usually respected there can be no doubt that if Stienbeck was fit and well then i seriously doubt SNA would be lining up,but then i doubt if they didn’t believe he had the speed for the guineas then they wouldn’t run him.Its funny how some people seem to forget just how fast a horse montjey himself was most so i dont subscribe to the theory that his progeny arent quick enough to win 8/10 furlong races its like what people use to say about the danehill, that he would never sire any top middle distance horses but he did

Zarkara is right sna will probably pick up some injury,if you remember Ballydoyle/Coolmore retired George Washington after his Irish guineas run and of course Johannesburg picked up that mysterious injury during that winner so he never ran again NOT.Magnier has never gone down that road of what zarkakra is saying and i dont believe they ever would apart from Fasliyev and footstepsinthesand i couldn’t name any other of their top 2 or 3 yrs that have retired though injury and i doubt they will start now

I like Jan Vermeer i throught he looked good when he won his maiden on fast ground, and i backed him on sunday knowing the grd would suit.I think the fact that he has won on g/f and heavy gr makes him a very intresting horse for nexts yr derby. He looks a very good prospect.

A very good performance from the winner, its a shame he wont go for the guineas i think he would def be in the 1st 3.As far as the derby goes he looks the most likely winner but they do have a few more unexposed ones at ballydoyle. He looks a quality horse who ozes class lets hope he winters well he ones to look forward to very much.

I remember saying at the time of the conventry what a graveyard it is for winners of that race. You have go back a long time to find a winner who then won there next race, for some reason it seems to take a lot out of the winner, maybe thats why obrien missed the race with stienback
