Jose I guess when the judge says you are right then you are right. A complete disregard for the facts I should have said.Frankie went to the stewards when they ignores the fact that Jamie Heffernan was pushed out on the bend(check the video). They responded yes Senor Dettori,of course Senor Dettori, why we are so sorry Senor Dettori, come in here you scallywag from Ireland and apologise to Senor Dettori. Thank you Senior Dettori for drawing our attention to such a flagrant violation of the rules. Please Senior Dettori report any future violations which we the stewards may miss.By the way Senor would you have won but for the incident? No. I see.
What’s with "a constant breaking of the rules regarding the paddock" Easier than the facts I suppose.
As Cash Asmussen said when the racing fans in Ireland complained about his riding. For their two shilling bets they should be allowed into the ring to give me riding instructions. The public are not allowed anywhere near the ring at Epsom unless they have lots and lots of money.Where the public can see the horses at Epsom is decided by their ticket, sold by the "authorities". Maybe they need more ring and enclosure cameras at Epsom.Getting the horses to the start is Aidan’s job, getting to see them is yours.
Do you really think English racing authorities would tell Aidan to take his derby runners and go home. Without him the derby would be for losers.May 14, 2010 at 14:12 #295686Aidan was at home at Ballydoyle watching on television.I did not realise they have television in ireland.I mean in Munster.(I thought that was in Germany)
May 14, 2010 at 15:19 #295698I’m confused about the whole incident? What business is it of the stewards? What difference would it make if they saw him trotting? If they only wanted to see the horse trot, why won’t O’Brien agree to that? All very confusing?
Is it plausible that the horse was injured and will be ruled out of the Derby and they didn’t that info coming out?
May 14, 2010 at 15:20 #295699You’ld want to have that chip on your shoulder looked at andyod – it seems to be causing you a lot of stress!
May 14, 2010 at 15:26 #295701"It’s the most insane thing I’ve ever heard," the trainer is reported as saying. "Why would you want to trot him again on a bruised heel and cause more pain?"
Mr O Brien is rattling up the words haha.
Insane
May 14, 2010 at 15:28 #295703For the record I am not saying who is right or who is wrong – I am just pointing out that everywhere bar the Racing Post this morning suggests O’Brien did not let the stewards look at the horse at all yesterday. That is incorrect – he did but not for a second time after the horse was iced and polticed.
May 14, 2010 at 15:40 #295705Aidan is from Wexford which I think you’ll find is in Leinster, not Munster.
Thanks. Thought he was from Tipperary/Limerick

The stewards should not need to justify anything.
Under BHA rules, any trainer has to comply with whatever the stewards want FULL STOP.
AOB thinks he’s above the "Rules".
After what happened in the Derby and Newmarket, it’s time to make a stand.
It is not up to AOB to determine which rules he wants to obey or ignore.
That’s they type of total SS mentality that get’s peoples backs up.
They are not Gods and they do mess up.
What right does Robert Earnshaw have to ask a man responsible for a $million animal to do the Zenyatta shuffle when he’s injured?
What was his reason again?
To settle the issue
in his own words?
So Robert Earnshaw in his wisdom thought he would order Aiden to trot a lame horse so he could tell the press and the local sweetie wife your right! he was defininately lame.
I’d love to see what rule covers that.
No wonder the man breaks rules if that’s the way they go about their business.
May 14, 2010 at 17:31 #295716If Cape Blanco had been the hot fav and finished well tailed off then i could understand the stewards, but he was not and did not so what business is it of theres to ask for the horse to see the vet??
May 14, 2010 at 18:22 #295720I know I have a chip. It gave me a bad shoulder sway.I carried it for many years.Thought that it had gone away. But you have just confirmed my fears.Andyod

Was this the same "lame" horse who was earlier reportedly described as being "fine"?
Value Is EverythingMay 14, 2010 at 21:41 #295747"It’s fine" is often a euphemism for "F***k off"in polite company and not a reference to the injury.
May 15, 2010 at 00:32 #295758If accurately reported, it is obvious they were lieing when first describing the horse as "fine".
When any horse can be backed ante-post for a race in future, then trainers should make more of an effort to tell the truth.
How can we punters know the true condition of the horse, if "fine" actually means "lame"?
Wonder what our Irish freinds would’ve said had Cape Blanco been trained by Nicky Henderson?
Value Is EverythingMay 15, 2010 at 00:54 #295760GingerT,
If something was getting you down, and I asked you how you were, you could well say "fine"!

APOB obviously knew there wasn’t anything too serious wrong with the horse. Horses usually recover from lameness wuite quickly so I wouldn’t have thought he was too worried. It’s not the APOB way and never will be to have a grá for talking to the press/giving interviews, but I’d say had he not been hassled by the stewards there would have been comments in the RP the next day from him that Cape Blanco was lame post-race.
Anyway, what were the steward’s games trying to look at the horse a 2nd time when the situation was obviously under control?!
May 15, 2010 at 10:10 #295769Absolutely THM – quite what they were tring to establish is unclear.
May 17, 2010 at 11:53 #296054don’t get the controversy. Seems to be bureacracy gone mad
It was well know he had a damaged heel before the race & must have jarred it slightly on the ground. It didn’t afect his performance, but APOB’s staff wanted to get it cleaned up and comfort him.
Vet checked him & then wanted to do it again. What if Cape Blanco had a hairline fracture? Walking on it wasn’t going to make it better.
Also, what happens if they miss the ferry / flight home? Where does the horse stay / the staff stay? For the vet to say what exactly?
Also, would Coolmore really risk the health of a valuable racehorse? He could be worth millions to them
